Worrying about "when the other shoe drops" will just steal your present joy. Students predicting getting a poor grade on an examination felt bad for days before they received their results. Worse, their stress did not diminish their disappointment once they got their scores.

There are countless bad things that might potentially happen, but most are impossible, and there's just no way a person can predict them all.
Keep in mind that we're notoriously bad at predicting how we're going to feel in a given situation and things often go better than we imagine in moments of fear. People say that they're concerned about something negative that could happen and they won't be caught off guard. What really upsets them is that though they sometimes experience bad things, they 're never the ones they 're thinking of.
