RETREAT CATERING

Did y’all know we also offer farm-to-table catering services for retreats!? We bring you the freshest organic, local produce and sustainably-raised meats directly from local farms to provide you with a unique seasonal menu for events big or small! We source 100% from local farms for these events so your guests can experience the bounty of seasonal variety the Pacific Northwest has to offer. As nutritionists, we are able to accommodate any and all dietary restrictions so none of your guests will go hungry. We are located in Portland, Oregon, and are able to travel to locations within Oregon and Washington state.

Once we learn more about your diet & wellness goals, we will pair you with one of our chefs for weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly meal prep services. Your chef can cook in your home, or prepare your meals off-site & deliver them straight to your door.

Our Postpartum Care Packages are filled with nourishing meals, snacks and beverages designed to promote deep healing. Our menu is based on traditional healing practices from around the world that center on easy-to-digest warming and nourishing dishes to support healing and comfort. The secret to a great vegan bowl? Extra sauce!!
Our Southwest Bowls were served with a roasted poblano crema and our fave
And our Mediterranean Bowls were served with a roasted carrot hummus and a cashew tzatziki sauce 🤤
We often make tweaks to classic recipes to keep our dishes in line with the what the season has to offer. For our tabbouleh, since we don’t have tomatoes and cucumbers available yet in the , we used crushed Greek olives, grated carrot and sunflower seeds for that juiciness and crunch factor 👌

As a wellness business, we know that true health and wellness of us all is tied to the land, those who tend it, and those who love it. This is why we will always stand with the indigenous people of the world as they resist occupation. We call for a CEASEFIRE NOW and end to occupation of the Palestine people. We call for LAND BACK from turtle island to the philippines. We believe in collective liberation for all human and non-human beings under oppression. Our prayers are for climate justice and social equity to be at the forefront on the wellness movement. We know none of us are free until all of us are free.

We believe we must dismantle the current paradigm of extraction, exploitation, and racial oppression and revive a pan-indigenous paradigm to restore our relationships to true health.

Chef Jed is a culinary nutritionist living in Portland, OR. After a decade working on organic farms, studying holistic health & nutrition, and growing a love for cooking, these interests & passions intersected to help form Gather Around Nutrition, a farm-to-table private chef company with a food-as-medicine approach to cooking. His cooking style is influenced by his Cajun roots, plus all of the wonderful, rich global cuisines he has been lucky enough to enjoy in life, as well as the culinary creativity he learned from farmers. With an understanding that everyone has their own unique dietary needs, his goal is to help you maintain your optimal health with tasty & nutritious local food.

CHEF JOHANNA
she/they

Chef Johanna is a personal chef & holistic nutritionist who is passionate about creating nourishing dishes featuring fresh produce from local farms and wild-harvested foods. She operates with the wisdom that our bodies are microcosms of the larger living earth and that in turn, each individual has different needs to support optimal health, in contrast to the one-diet-fits-all approach. Chef Johanna's farm-to-table cooking style and focuses on creating meals that highlight the abundance of each season in the PNW. Her work is further influenced by her Italian roots and the crafts of cooking passed down to her by her grandmother and mother from a young age.

Upon graduating from NUNM in Portland, OR with a Master's in Nutrition, Chef Johanna created Gather Around Nutrition to share her passion for seasonal eating and holistic nutrition with her community. She is overjoyed to see how the business has grown over the past 3 years and is looking forward to creating even more community rooted in wellness.
