Interwoven Care

Interwoven Care IWC brings together massage therapy, movement, mindfulness, and perinatal doula support. I see mas It can stir us in ways we may not have imagined. In their joy!

Interwoven Care: Dynamic Threads of support is based out of Sage Healing collaborative in East Providence, Rhode Island. Jesse works primarily as a massage therapist and full spectrum doula. She has a background in reproductive health studies, evidence-based birth and lactation education, as well as alignment based yoga, and therapeutic bodywork. Ive trained and certified in advanced pregnancy mas

sage through Touch for Birth as well as a DONA for Birth doula training and a CAPPA for postpartum doula and lactation educator certifications. I have woven these studies together to offer dynamic care for the full spectrum of women's reproductive events. As a peer in loss and someone who has dealt with PTSD along my reproductive road, I understand that that becoming pregnant is not always the rosy picture it is painted to be. As a doula, (and person) I meet people where they are. In their sorrow. In the blender of it all! From conception to contraception, from healthy births to pregnancy losses of all kinds (chosen or not), women's reproductive journeys are dynamic and often a bit complex. As a full spectrum doula, I offer support for the full range of women's reproductive outcomes. Care for your body, mind, and heart by giving you permission to receive the support you need. Rest assured, that there will be no judgement of your choices in this or previous pregnancies, births or parental decision making. I meet you where you are. As an educator and advocate I am available to discuss any questions or concerns you may have along the way and share evidence based research and local resources for you to consider. Please reach out with any questions or to schedule your massage or interview at interwovencare@gmail.com

Attention all families! Brown Health is planning to CLOSE the only local birthing option in southern Rhode Island. This is a cost savings attempt that will add risk to our community. Having access to perinatal providers can be the difference between life and death. Closing this local birthing center adds the burden of excessive travel to an already complicated time for families. Many of my clients cannot travel long distances in a car in the final weeks of pregnancy. Some will choose to forgo important visits rather than get in a car. Some don’t have a car. Some can’t afford the time or cost. Please speak up by emailing TODAY and showing up to march tomorrow. Let’s work together to spread the word and keep the Noreen Drexel Birthing Center alive.

Postpartum showing up looks like…

What did you need postpartum? What are you grateful showed up?

No I don’t need clothes. I need wipes. I need hugs. I need fragrance free diapers. I need a shower. I need food And coconut water. I’m so hungry and tired. I need rest more than ever and am getting less than ever.
Bring me Warm soothing meals.
Eyes and ears. Arms to hold me and sometimes my baby. Kindness. Compassion. Grace. I might not be okay and may not seem like myself.

Postpartum is depleting on levels many have never experienced; physically and emotionally exhausting.

Support comes in many forms; From dog walks to friend talks. As a doula consultant I help people think through what their needs might be and how to channel the excitement of the people around them into helpful delegation.

Who do you feel comfortable to do some laundry for you once or twice a week? Who can you ask to pick up your older kid for a play date? Who can you call at 2am and share your moment of overwhelming or talk about a good Netflix binge to get you through your next long night?
Who do you not know very well that has expressed a desire to help… really “wants in” .. why not add that person to your meal train? People want to help. Having clear avenues available to offer and receive specific appropriate support makes all the difference.

For the most part society accepts young babies breastfeeding. But toddlers - that's a whole other ball game. Here are five reasons it is completely normal.

Okay! So to say that I am geeking out is a bit of an understatement. I think I found my home as a healer and coach. Integrative Manual Therapy has earned my attention and investment, while planting seeds of hope for our collective wellness.
I have witnessed the profound changes in others and myself. This truly is an integrative approach to supporting each person to reach their optimal functioning in body and mind. The fusion of western and eastern modalities come together to welcome anyone through the door, meet them where they are, and offer support to improve their present reality.

I had the interesting experience to come to class well, unwind old physical imbalances in my pelvis and spine during the first muscular skeletal class and then promptly Get in a rear end car accident on my way home! I had the great privledge to receive acute trauma care from my teachers over the phone immediately after the accident, using NFPs or neural facial placements. These holds calmed my NS and addressed my shock. I’d never tried NFPs and was amazed by the bodily releases I experienced after a few minutes in each hold.

Being the yogi, and dedicated student that I am, I observed the way the impact rippled through my tissues and was readily absorbed. I had the great fortune to be signed up for the GI course starting the next day and retuned to the school. My peers and instructors mapped my body for adhesions. You can see the seatbelt how it ruptured membranes across my abdominal area, as well as the way the impact was jammed into my wrist, arm, foot and hip. My classmates and teachers supported me back to balance as we dove into GI coursework; A whole other system, yet so deeply related.

I can’t possibly summarize the depth of content gathered in a post like this, but I hope to convey that there is more to come. MUCH more.

A few nuggets to chew on WITH me:

- leaky gut can influence posture and back pain
- toxicity overload can be the straw that break the camels back and allows dis-ease to surface
-the body really does keep score
-calcium lactate increases liver function and nearly eliminates menstrual cramps
-tongue and lip ties can be manually released
