The Seasons Move Through Us

In Ayurveda, the rhythms of nature mirror the rhythms within. Each season awakens a different dosha in our bodies, minds, and emotions:

Spring brings Kapha—cool, heavy, and moist. We may feel sluggish, congested, or resistant to change. It’s a time to lighten up with warm, spicy foods and movement.

Summer ignites Pitta—hot, sharp, and intense. Tempers flare, skin reacts, and digestion may become overheated. Cooling herbs, coconut, and time in water help us stay balanced.

Autumn stirs Vata—dry, windy, and unpredictable. Anxiety, dryness, and restlessness arise. This is the season for grounding routines, warm soups, and quiet evenings.

Winter continues the Vata influence, but deeper. It asks us to rest, restore, and nourish our inner fire with warm oil massage, hearty stews, and introspection.

Nature teaches us to live cyclically, not constantly.
