Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition that can affect both dogs and cats but the good news is it is preventable.

Heartworms are spread through mosquito bites, which means even indoor pets can be at risk. Once infected, treatment can be costly and difficult, especially for dogs, and there is no approved treatment for heartworms in cats.

The best protection is simple:
✔️ Year-round heartworm prevention
✔️ Routine wellness exams
✔️ Annual heartworm testing for dogs

Prevention is far easier than treatment, and protecting your pet starts with staying consistent.

❤ Meet Carol ❤

Carol is a licensed veterinary technician with over 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine and has been part of our team since 2005. She has a special interest in oncology and loves working with all of the different personalities our patients bring through the door.

She was inspired to pursue veterinary medicine after her first two cats while living in Beijing and Bangkok.

Outside of work, Carol enjoys spending time with her family, working out, and traveling. At home, she has two pups, Lo**ta and Libby, who keep life fun and full of personality.

We are so lucky to have Carol on our team. Be sure to say hello next time you see her. 🐾
