Medic Ashley and EMT Hannah have some Spring safety tips!!
Listen up, y’all--
Spring is springing!!
And so is our call volume!!
The sun is out, the grass is gittin' greener, and we know exactly what you’re thinking: "I bet I can fix that roof/downspout/stump/fenceline by supper."
We love the hustle, but as your local EMS, we’d really appreciate it if you used discretionary confidence:
🌸 Ladders are not your friend.
They. Choose. Violence.
A lot.
Get down.
🌸 On a blood thinner?  "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars."
Great advice from a well-known philosopher. 😉
🌸 "Yeet!!" If your next sentence starts with this, just go ahead and start punching 9..1...into your phone. Be proactive!!
🌸 The bees are buzzing. If you're allergic to them,  you should have your Epi pens close and the skills to quick draw them like Chuck Norris.

Let's shake things up!!

These past few days have been everything but predictable--
✅ We've  had high winds and TrampolineGate
✅ We've lost power 
✅ We got it back
✅ Lost it again
✅ It’s been 70°
✅ It's been 20° 
✅ We've gotten a few inches of snow
✅ We've played Bumper Cars: Blizzard Edition
✅ A meteor has hit this part of the state
✅ And, now to switch things up, we are going to add a statewide tornado siren test tomorrow!

Why? Because y'all haven't had enough chaos!!
Yup.
9:50am tomorrow morning you can expect to hear the shrill wee-woos of the tornado sirens.
Expect more wees than woos.

Ours will be from Main Station in the Village, and Pike Station out on Dueber.
Some of you lucky folks will hear both!!

So, grab a cup of coffee.
Take your Lisinopril. 
Tell your dog, Tater, that it is all gonna be OK.
Then,  we will ride out this 3–5 minutes of ear piercing weeees together...

Unlike the other thangs listed above, this one is at least proactive.
We hope.
If the sky is the color of a bruised avocado, you should probably head to the basement. Don't forget Tater. 

Oh!! And continue to keep your eyes out for Miss Kelly's pool pillow because it ain't shown up yet. It may have started a new life in Nebraska.
We don't know.

Yesterday: Responding to downed power lines and flying trampolines in a T-shirt because it was 70 degrees and Mother Nature was having a mid-life crisis.

Today: Swapping the sunglasses for gear because 3 inches of snow turned the afternoon commute into a high-stakes game of
Bumper Cars: Blizzard Edition.
❄️🚗
We went from "Watch out for that falling branch" to "How did you end up in that ditch, Tater?" in record time.
Stay off the roads if you can.
