We’re thrilled to announce the expansion of Pretty Obsessed with the opening of a second location inside the serene and stunning ForREST Wellness Spa in West Branch!
In May, we proudly opened Pretty Obsessed Lashtopia, a private suite located next to the talented team at Profiles Salon (5123 US 23 Suite D, Oscoda). Now, we’re excited to introduce Pretty Obsessed Browtopia—your new destination for expert Lash & Brow services, right inside ForREST Spa. Stay tuned—permanent makeup services will be launching soon!
The ForREST Wellness Spa is home to an exceptional, handpicked team of Master Massage Therapists, Estheticians, and Homeopathic Medical Providers, all offering an unparalleled level of experience, professionalism, and healing energy. It’s an honor to collaborate with such an inspiring group that truly values community over competition, and empowerment through education and self-care
This transition has been both emotional and invigorating. After 10 wonderful years in Tawas, I’m returning to my roots and reigniting my passion for the artistry that started it all. I’m incredibly proud to be growing the Pretty Obsessed legacy—one built on creativity, professionalism, and the highest industry standards—while continuing to glow, grow & evolve through ongoing education and two decades of industry experience

Obsessed with all things beauty for as long as she can remember, Owner and Master Esthetician Melainie Kettlewell’s professional career may have began over two decades ago, but her natural talent and passion for her craft began in early childhood—first grade, to be exact—where she could be found sneaking her mother’s magazines into school in order to “fix” the models brows, lips, and lashes with her crayons.
Since then, Melainie has taken the Beauty World by storm, spending over 20 years working, studying, and training with some of the industry’s most respected names and institutions.
After receiving her Cosmetology Degree from David Presley Aveda Academy, Melainie began her career at Mystique Day Spa, an upscale Day Spa catering to the high-end clientele of Dearborn, Michigan. Here, she was given the coveted opportunity to study underneath their Master Esthetician, where she specialized in Aveda skin and nail care.
Melainie’s advanced skills were soon recognized by another luxury spa in the area: Salon West, who eventually hired her on as their Lead Esthetician. But it wasn’t until 2007, at Mind Body Spirit Salon & Spa in North Dakota, that she realized her love for lashes and brows. With the beauty trend of the time drastically shifting from the over-plucked brows of the 90’s to the full, fluffy brows of today— Melainie found her true calling—quickly becoming known for her seemingly miraculous ability to rehabilitate eyebrows that had been over-tweezed for years (and considered “unfixable” by others) back to their full, fluffy natural shape.
Now a renowned brow rehabilitation specialist, mastering the art of lashes seemed like the next natural step. Obtaining her initial certification from the prestigious Paris Lash Academy, Melainie pursued her lash education to the fullest degree, eventually completing the Lash Educator International Certification from Lash Incorporated, amongst several noteworthy others (below).
The first, and now the most reputable Brow & Lash Artist in the area, when Melainie’s not at the salon, or continuing her education, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and exploring the great outdoors.

Personal note from Bridgette: Before lash artists even existed in Michigan . I traveled to Canada to get lash extensions. I’ve travelled the country from California to Florida to have my lashes done . After finding Melanie in 2023 I would drive 2 hours from Harbor Springs, MI to have Melanie help me restore my lashes. I will never have another person touch them . She is the best I have found in my nearly 2 decade journey to find the best.
