🚨 ❄️ Storm Ready ❄️🚨
Your Onset Fire Department is fully staffed, prepared, and ready to respond as this winter storm moves through our area. Our crews have checked equipment, apparatus, and facilities to ensure uninterrupted service.

We remind residents to stay off the roads but if you must please use caution while traveling, clear snow away from hydrants and vents, and call 911 for emergencies only.

Stay safe and warm.

❄️ 🚨❄️Reminder❄️🚨❄️

As a reminder before the winter weather arrives, we ask that you adopt a local fire hydrant in your neighborhood. They are shy, mostly red, and dont say much, but they love to be seen by the Fire Department, especially when we need them in a hurry!

🚨🚨Here is a notice from the Town of Wareham. Please abide by this notice for this weekend’s and future storms. 🚨🚨

The latest information given to us has insanely cold temperatures arriving overnight tonight with feels like temps in the negative teens a good portion of the weekend. Snowfall amounts are anywhere from 6-12” of heavier wet snow to 15-20” of lighter, fluffier snow. PLEASE be prepared as the conditions may very well change!

*If your water pipes are not insulated, keep a faucet running at a low stream to prevent freezing. (Good idea even with insulated pipes).
*Keep your pets indoors (they rely on you to take care of them!).
*Strong sustained winds 30-50 mph and gusts up to 70 mph are expected. Downed trees, tree limbs and wires are very likely. DO NOT go near any down wires!!!
*The Town of Wareham warming center will be open at the Multi Service Center, 48 Marion Rd. Check the Town Website for hours.
*Adopt a Fire Hydrant!!! Help us help you by clearing 3-4 feet around fire hydrants incase we have to respond to a fire at your or your neighbors house.
*Staying home and off the roads allows for snow removal and emergency response to happen easier and more timely. The storm is expected to end overnight Monday into early Tuesday morning. Spend time indoors with your families so we can be with ours after the storm and please, be safe.

Tonight we celebrate a special dinner for FF. Drum and his last shift on Shift 3 as next week he begins his first shift as Captain/Shift Commander. The breaking up of Shift 3 is comparable to Batman losing Robin, Superman losing Lois Lane, Tom losing Jerry and Sonny losing Cher.

Congratulations on the promotion FF. Drum. Shift 3 will miss you (and vice versa 😉).
