The WA Cares Fund can pay providers directly for the services and support you receive — no need to pay out of pocket. All you need to do is find a registered provider who offers the services you want. While WA Cares benefits can be used to pay for care in a residential setting like a nursing home, they can also cover services and support to help you stay at home. This includes home safety modifications, home-delivered meals, transportation and assistive technology like medication reminder devices. Learn more at https://bit.ly/440cGuB

is a range of services and support for individuals who need assistance with the tasks of daily living. The need for care may be temporary or permanent, depending on the person’s condition, and it can be provided in your home or a residential care setting. Long-term care is not medical care, and it’s typically not covered by health insurance or Medicare — and that’s why the WA Cares Long-Term Care Fund was created: to help provide financial coverage when other options don’t.

People may need long-term care for several reasons:
🧾 Prolonged illness: Chronic illness can occur at any point in life.
🩹 Injury or disability: Whether due to an accident, neurological condition, or other reason.
🧠 Cognitive impairment: This can range from dementia to many other conditions.
♿ Physical impairment: Includes loss of strength, mobility, or trouble balancing.

Understanding the reasons for long-term care helps families plan ahead and get the support their loved ones need.
