Festive Sugar Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)
3-4 tbsp colored sugar or sprinkles for decoration

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.

3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and white sugar until smooth.

4. Add Egg and Extracts: Beat in the egg, vanilla, and almond extract until well combined.

5. Mix in Dry Ingredients: Gradually blend the flour mixture into the creamed mixture until just combined.

6. Shape Cookies: Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place them on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten each ball slightly and sprinkle with colored sugar or sprinkles.

7. Bake: Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven or until golden. Allow to cool down, decorate.

Then put your feet up, some nice festive music, a beautiful fire backdrop on your TV screen, some tea or hot coco and relax for 10 min. Perhaps even have a mask on your skin during this time.
