We’re thrilled to share that last week, Chris Wright—iCare’s former CEO and now Chairman of the Board—was honored with the CAHCF Lifetime Achievement Award at the Connecticut Association of Health Care Facilities’ 96th Annual Membership Meeting held at Saybrook Point Resort on July 17, 2025.

With a long-term care career spanning nearly four decades, Chris’s impact has been nothing short of extraordinary. As owner-operator of iCare Health Network—12 skilled nursing facilities across CT, MA, and VT with 1,562 licensed beds—his commitment to quality care shines through our network’s multiple AHCA Silver and Bronze Quality Awards.

Chris has also been a tireless advocate for our industry:

● Two terms on the AHCA Board of Governors (including two as Secretary/Treasurer), now serving his second term as Vice Chair

● Three terms as CAHCF President, two as Immediate Past President, four as Vice Chairman—and continuing on the CAHCF Board of Directors

● Active participant in the AHCA Future Leaders Program and staunch supporter of the AHCA PAC—regularly lending his voice at the Connecticut State Capitol and on Capitol Hill

We're Celebrating Long Term Care Administrators Week!

Meet Yong Crandall, Administrator at Touchpoints at Chestnut. Balancing a demanding role with personal well-being is key to her leadership style. Yong makes time for long walks—either before or after work—to clear her mind and process the day's ideas and challenges. This practice helps her maintain a positive outlook, which in turn influences the care she provides for both her staff and residents.

Yong embraces the wisdom of Esther and Jerry Hicks, reminding herself that “The dominance of your thoughts is what brings everything to you, and is what is behind the action that you offer. By seeking good feeling thoughts that align with your source – your action will then always feel good.”

By aligning her thoughts with positive action, she ensures that her leadership is both inspiring and supportive. Her approach underscores the importance of nurturing one’s own well-being to positively impact the entire community.

Celebrating our amazing team at Chestnut Hill with a Caribbean Themed Luncheon! Our staff enjoyed mouthwatering beef patties, cocoa bread, and Cajun mac & cheese, all to the lively tunes of a steel pan drummer. Cheers to great food, fantastic music, and even greater company!
