CNJ advocates for the 1.1 million family caregivers in NJ and offers support coordination to guide you through self-direction.

Caregivers of New Jersey was formed in response to the growing number of caregivers within the state. With more than 1.1 million caregivers in the state, Caregivers of New Jersey will work to shed light on the mounting needs of caregivers and increased need for support. In addition, Caregivers of New Jersey has developed a Support Coordination team which supports many of the 1,850 individuals living in developmental centers who wish to be transitioned into the community. Support Coordination is a consumer driven process where by individuals choose where they would like to live and who they would like to support them.

We’re excited to share an upcoming event created especially for caregivers. It’s an evening to pause, find community and take inspiration from others who share the caregiving experience.

On September 8, 2025 you’re invited to attend An Evening for Caregivers—a heartfelt event dedicated to those who give their love and care every single day.

The evening will begin with information sessions focusing on topics important for caregivers. It will conclude with a highly anticipated live in-person conversation with Emma Heming Willis, author, advocate, entrepreneur, caregiver, and wife of actor Bruce Willis. The conversation will be moderated by Anderson Cooper, CNN anchor, award-winning journalist, bestselling author, and podcast host.

Supporting the mental health and developmental needs of children with autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and other neurological conditions can feel overwhelming. Understanding the tools available, including pediatric neuropsychiatric evaluations, can help families, educators, and providers make informed decisions and create effective care plans.

Family Resource Network and NeurAbilities Healthcare invite you to a free webinar that takes a closer look at how these evaluations support children with neurological and neurodevelopmental conditions. This session will explore the role of pediatric neuropsychiatric evaluations in supporting children with autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and related diagnoses.

Looking for overnight respite services? FRN’s Respite Getaways are here to help!

Our weekend-long Respite Getaways provide adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities an exciting hotel stay packed with fun activities and community outings. At the same time, caregivers receive the time and space they need to relax and recharge.

Upcoming Getaways:
Morris County | September 19th-21st
Middlesex County | September 5th-7th

Space is limited! Email RespiteGetaways@familyresourcenetwork.org to get started.

Getaways are funded through the Supports Program and each participant’s Individual Service Plan (ISP). Participants must have 120 units of Respite and 2 units of Overnight Respite available. Meals and activity costs must be paid out of pocket.
