Caregivers of New Jersey

CNJ advocates for the 1.1 million family caregivers in NJ and offers support coordination to guide you through self-direction.

Caregivers of New Jersey was formed in response to the growing number of caregivers within the state. With more than 1.1 million caregivers in the state, Caregivers of New Jersey will work to shed light on the mounting needs of caregivers and increased need for support. In addition, Caregivers of New Jersey has developed a Support Coordination team which supports many of the 1,850 individuals living in developmental centers who wish to be transitioned into the community. Support Coordination is a consumer driven process where by individuals choose where they would like to live and who they would like to support them.

Meet Ava! 💡

Thanks to the Family Resource Network’s Assistive Technology and Home Modifications program, Ava now has a fully accessible bathroom that has truly transformed daily life for her and her family. Her parents shared how grateful they are for this safe and functional space, explaining that it has made caregiving easier, eliminated the need to constantly adapt, and created an environment she absolutely loves.

These thoughtful home adaptations allow Ava to move through her space more comfortably and with greater independence.
