Caregivers of New Jersey CNJ advocates for the 1.1 million family caregivers in NJ and offers support coordination to guide you through self-direction.

Caregivers of New Jersey was formed in response to the growing number of caregivers within the state. With more than 1.1 million caregivers in the state, Caregivers of New Jersey will work to shed light on the mounting needs of caregivers and increased need for support. In addition, Caregivers of New Jersey has developed a Support Coordination team which supports many of the 1,850 individuals living in developmental centers who wish to be transitioned into the community. Support Coordination is a consumer driven process where by individuals choose where they would like to live and who they would like to support them.

Looking for a Saturday respite program? Discover Respite Connections in Mercer County!

Join us for a FREE Saturday respite program supporting youth ages 6 to 21 with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Hosted by the Family Resource Network, this program offers engaging activities and opportunities for social connection.

Held twice a month on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm at The College of New Jersey, participants enjoy group-based recreational activities designed to build social skills and confidence. While youth connect and grow, families and caregivers receive a much-needed break to recharge.

Program Highlights:
• No cost to families
• Lunch provided at each event
• 3:1 participant-to-staff ratio
• Youth must reside in Mercer County

Live Q&A This Monday: Navigating the Transition Into Adult Services

Have questions about what comes next after school services? You are not alone. Many families feel overwhelmed trying to understand how New Jersey’s adult disability services system works.

This interactive session is an opportunity to ask real questions and get clear answers about topics like DDD eligibility, waiver programs, NJCAT assessments, support coordination, guardianship, and more.

We’re Hiring: Camp NOVA On-Call Nurse

Join us this summer as a Camp NOVA On-Call Nurse and help ensure a safe, supportive camp experience for youth and adults living with epilepsy and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Camp NOVA is a 7-day, 6-night overnight camp taking place July 18 to July 25, 2026, at Camp Linwood MacDonald in Sandyston, New Jersey. Two nurses will be on site throughout the duration of camp. If either on-site nurse becomes ill, needs to leave, or is otherwise unable to fulfill their responsibilities, the On-Call Nurse must be available during that week and promptly arrive at camp to provide coverage.

You’ll support our campers by:

- Administering and documenting prescribed medications if called on-site
- Staffing the infirmary and responding to injuries or medical needs
- Remaining on-call overnight for medical emergencies
- Reviewing medical records and collaborating with camp leadership on plans of care
- Providing medical guidance to Camp NOVA staff
- Participating in pre-camp staff training

This role is ideal for a mature, medically trained professional who is responsive, dependable, and committed to supporting individuals with epilepsy and developmental disabilities in an inclusive camp setting.

Join us this summer as a Camp NOVA Registered Nurse and help ensure a safe, supportive camp experience for youth and adults living with epilepsy and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This 7-day, 6-night overnight camp is designed for youth and adults living with epilepsy and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Campers enjoy a full week of inclusive activities, outdoor experiences, and the chance to build lasting friendships in a supportive environment.

Today, we’re celebrating two extraordinary members of the Family Resource Network team.

For more than six years, Dave has been a vital part of the agency, going far beyond his role to protect FRN’s security and stability. Our trained navigators provide free, confidential assistance to help individuals and families compare health plans, understand benefits, and enroll in coverage that fits their needs.
