Bee stings can be unfortunate consequences of summer’s flowers. Here's the "buzz" about how your child can avoid them.

🐝 avoid brightly colored and flower print clothing
🐝 avoid fragrances or cosmetics with floral scents
🐝 keep food and sweet drinks covered when eating outside
🐝 wear long pants and shoes that cover your whole foot
🐝 if there are bees around or on you, stand still and stay calm

Seek medical attention right away if your child has been stung and develops signs of an allergic reaction such as wheezing or trouble breathing; dizziness or fainting; swelling in the face, lips, or tongue; nausea or vomiting; or tightness in the throat or chest.

Eastchester Community Action Partnership (ECAP) is asking for the help of the community. Backpacks to hold books and school supplies for children in our community are needed. See the image below for details.

Backpacks can be dropped at ECAP or they can also be brought to PCSBBank located at 478 White Plains Road, Eastchester during regular business hours by August 7.

What your family wears outdoors can protect them from harmful UV rays. Stay safe in the sun by wearing a hat, sunglasses, lightweight clothing that covers the body, and sunscreen!
