This is where we highlight members of our community & share their words on their experience here at CVI!
This week the spotlight is on Lex, who’s been coming to the center for the last two years. Lex often spends time with the other Young Adult Program peers. They always make it a point to help out, whether that’s cleaning, helping with groups or just being a supportive person to others. They will often check in with others at the center to make sure they’re doing ok.
This is what Lex has to say about Chesapeake Voyagers in their own words:
“I’ve met some of the nicest most down to earth people here, and they’re like family now. The world is chaos but this place is like a bubble where we don’t have to worry about all that.”
When we asked Lex, what does CVI mean to you? They said: “Peace” ❤️
Lex is someone we can always count on to be honest and real, and we love them for it! Keep an eye out for our next Spotlight!

Since 2009, Chesapeake Voyagers Inc (CVI) has been the Mid-Shore’s go-to hub for wellness, recovery, and community. Their programs are free; no referral or insurance is needed—just show up as you are.

CVI’s Young Adult Program (YAP) is specifically for 18-35 year-olds. This free, fun group meets weekly for a free dinner and activities.

✨What’s at CVI:

Daily Activities: Drop-in groups and workshops all week long, including crafts, bingo, game hours, as well as lunch and learns

Peer Support & Resources: talk with their on-site Peer Support Specialists, judgment-free, and find resources for mental health and susbtance use challenges for yourself or those you care about

Social Events: Including community breakfast and excursions to places like Ocean City, museums, bowling, and more!
