We had an incredible evening at the Lehigh Valley IronPigs game, celebrating with our amazing cancer survivors! 🧡⚾

On Tuesday, June 18, we gathered at Coca-Cola Park to watch the IronPigs take on the Norfolk Tides. It was a night filled with joy, community and plenty of ballpark fun. Survivors and their guests enjoyed free admission, parking passes, delicious food, and special gifts.

Exciting news for those with atrial fibrillation (AFib). Pulsed field ablation is now available at Lehigh Valley Heart and Vascular Institute for treatment of AFib. This method uses pulsed electrical fields to target problem heart tissue rather than extreme heat or cold used in customary thermal ablation. It’s shown to be safe and effective in clinical trials when compared to thermal ablation. It also shortens procedure times, which also benefits you. This year marks the first year since his daughter, Kelly Purcell, MD, joined LVPG as a physiatrist focusing on interventional spine injury.

🥎Just days before the Patriot League Tournament finals, Josie Charles, Lehigh University senior and star leadoff hitter/left fielder, fractured her hand. Determined to play, Josie turned to Paul Sibley, DO, Chief of Hand Surgery at Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute and the Lehigh team’s hand physician.

Dr. Sibley stabilized the bone with a titanium screw using a no-tourniquet approach, completing the surgery in just 20 minutes while Josie was wide-awake. 🚑✨ She then headed to Boston and played two games that same night, hitting a triple the next day!

🏆🎉 Congratulations to our 2024 Athletes of the Year! Freedom High School's Nate Sletvold and Easton Area High School's Jocelyn Morgan have been awarded the Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute’s $10,000 scholarships for their incredible achievements both on and off the field.

🏀Nate, the top scorer in basketball and a dedicated leader, is heading to State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry where he will play basketball while pursuing his degree in environmental science.

🏑Jocelyn, a standout in field hockey and lacrosse, will be attending Kutztown University to continue her sports journey while pursuing a degree in allied health.
