Behind every moment of comfort, there is a volunteer 💙

This National Volunteer Week, we gathered to celebrate those who give so selflessly of their time and hearts. Our luncheon was just a small token of gratitude for the immeasurable impact our volunteers make every single day.

We are endlessly grateful for the compassion, presence, and care you bring to our patients and families.

🌟Volunteer Spotlight: Annie Livingstone 🌟

Meet one of our dedicated hospice volunteers 💙

When did you start volunteering with Talbot Hospice?
“I’ve been volunteering at Talbot Hospice since 2024."

What inspired you to become a hospice volunteer?
"My work with hospice is a response to a calling. I felt moved to work with people undergoing major transitions, so I decided to learn more about Talbot Hospice and found it to be such a loving and supportive organization."

What is your volunteer role, and what do you enjoy most about it?
"I work with some hospice and palliative patients, but most of my volunteer time goes to the writing support group I run with Lindy Barton. It is so gratifying to share experiences and to watch the healing journey happen through creative writing. I am continually grateful to the participants for sharing their most honest and vulnerable moments with me, and for holding space for mine as well."

One fun fact about you!
"My favorite pastime is spending a summer day by the lake in northwest Michigan.”
