How long have you been with Talbot Hospice?
I have been working at Talbot hospice for 3 years!

What drew you to hospice care?
"I enjoy providing 1:1 quality care to patients as well as support to the family. I see my all patients as family. Bringing a smile to their face , that I’m doing my job."

Fun facts about Bertha:
I have been married for 10 years, have 2 daughters and 2 amazing grandsons. I enjoy spending time with my family and making new memories. I was nominated for CNA of the year in 2024!

Volunteer Training Coming Up Soon!

The work of Talbot Hospice would not be possible without our volunteers! If you can think of a job, our volunteers do it - staffing our reception desk, sitting with patients, grocery shopping & preparing meals, assisting with administrative tasks, gardening and much more!

Our next volunteer training is coming up this fall. If you've always wanted to be a hospice volunteer, now is a great time to join us.

Join us on Tuesday September 9th for a Writing and Storyingtelling Support Group.

This grief writing-focused support group fosters healing in a safe and compassionate space where individuals coping with loss can express their emotions through writing. Participants are encouraged to share memories, reflect on their feelings, and explore their personal journeys through journaling, poetry, and storytelling.

There is power and a deep sense of understanding, in putting thoughts into words. By joining this group, you'll receive support from others who are also grieving. It's not about perfect grammar or style, but about finding comfort, connection, and meaning through writing.

Our Caregivers Support Group had a wonderful meeting this week, focusing on understanding dementia. We were grateful to welcome guest speaker Beth Hobson from Aging at Home Solution, who shared valuable insight and resources for caregivers in our community.
