If you have , you may eventually experience neuropathy, which can cause a loss of feeling in your feet. Checking your feet regularly for cuts and bruises is therefore extremely important.

It's best if this is routinely performed by a professional. We can help treat any undetected cuts or wounds and help you avoid developing an infection. Getting into the habit of having routine screenings can help you avoid developing serious foot conditions down the road.

Are those new shoes you got for the holiday making your sore? Did your bunion ruin another pair of beautiful shoes?

While your feet may be cozy and warm in socks, boots and slippers at this time of year, before you know it'll be time to break out your sandals and run around in bare feet. Of course, if you're not happy with the way your feet look because of your bunion, not to mention the pain, you might be shy about letting anyone see your feet. So now is the time to think about having it surgically corrected. The sooner the better!

Surgical procedures to correct bunions have come a long way in recent years, so forget about those stories you heard from your parents about their painful surgeries and long recuperation. Depending on the type of bunion you have, surgery may be minimally invasive and you'll be back dancing and doing Pilates in no time at all.

Get in touch with us today to schedule a consultation to discuss getting rid of that annoying bunion!

Have you noticed that your are always cold? Even when you're in a nice, warm room?

Persistently cold feet might indicate a problem with circulation, nerve issues, or diabetes. Stress, smoking, tight shoes, thin socks in winter, and inactivity can worsen it.

If your feet fail to warm up in even the warmest room in winter, see us for an evaluation to rule out any major problems. In the meantime, wear thick, warm socks, stay active, hydrate, and eat a balanced diet.

Are your toenails becoming yellow or discolored? You may have a fungal infection.

An infection may begin as a whitish or yellowish spot under the tip of your toenail. As the fungal infection spreads, it may cause your nail to discolor, thicken, and crumble at the edges – a potentially painful and very unsightly problem.

The elderly and diabetic individuals are particularly at risk for these fungal infections, due to their diminished blood circulation and the slower growth of their nails. Infections are also more likely to occur in men than women, especially those with a family history of toenail infection.
