Repost from .butt.rescue ❤️: Over the summer, Jason from Butterhead Kitchen was nominated for a photoshoot with Yes, Chef! Behind the Apron™️, a nonprofit founded by photographer Elaine Zelker. For his portrait, he created a stunning spread of fruits and vegetables arranged on pewter platters, accented with candelabras — all lovingly prepared for the animals of Fluffy Butt Rescue.
Yes, Chef! Behind the Apron™️ is more than a project. It is an artistic expression of resilience, passion, and purpose. The photographic series uncovers the raw strength and vulnerability chefs carry behind the apron, honoring their journeys and their humanity.
Jason’s work is never just about food. He hosts plant-based classes, dinners, and demos, but to him, the menu is only the entry point. The real work happens in conversation — when guests rethink what they eat, why they eat it, and who it affects. He invites people to pause at the plate — to consider ingredients, impact, and intention.
Jason also wore his father’s shirt, a quiet tribute woven into his portrait. Losing his father more than a decade ago reshaped his life and his purpose, guiding him toward teaching through food, empathy, and community.
We were deeply honored that Jason chose the animals of FBR for his portrait — and even more thrilled that his image was selected for the Yes, Chef! calendar.
