1 in 5 people in the U.S. are living with a sexually transmitted infection, but it doesn’t have to stay that way.

We can bring that number down, starting with changing our habits. Get tested every 3–6 months and anytime you have a new partner. It’s quick, normal, and one of the easiest ways to stay on top of your health.

If you are prescribed treatment, finish all your medication and follow up with your provider to make sure the infection is fully cleared.

Keep condoms on hand so you’re ready in the moment, not just after.

The more we test, talk, and take it seriously, the more we can change these numbers.

It’s STI Awareness Week!

Knowing the facts about STIs is more important now than ever. The more informed you are, the better you can protect your health and the people you care about.

Many STIs do not show symptoms, which is why regular testing matters even when you feel fine. The good news is most STIs are preventable, treatable, and manageable with the right care.

Today is National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day.

In 2023, there were 38,793 new HIV diagnoses in the U.S., and 7,117 were among youth ages 13–24. Young people also have the greatest unmet need for prevention like PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis).

Have you gotten tested recently? Knowing your status is the first step toward better health. Testing and PrEP are available at our clinic in Easton every Thursday!

Have you heard of dental dams before?

Dental dams are thin protective barriers used during oral contact to help lower the risk of HIV and other STIs. They create a layer between the mouth and the body to reduce the exchange of fluids.

Use a new one each time, place it flat before contact begins, and do not flip or reuse it.

As always, free protection is available in our clinic waiting rooms.

It’s National Condom Week!

Internal condoms are worn inside the body and help reduce the risk of HIV and other STIs by creating a protective barrier.

When used correctly, they’re highly effective. Insert before any intimate contact begins, make sure it’s positioned properly, and never use it at the same time as an external condom.

Free condoms are always available in our clinic waiting rooms. Take what you need and protect yourself!

Did you know that National Condom Week is celebrated from February 14th through the 21st?

External condoms are one of the most effective tools we have to reduce the risk of HIV and other STIs when used correctly and consistently.

Knowing the facts matters:
✔️ They significantly reduce the risk of HIV and many STIs
✔️ They must be used every time
✔️ Knowing how to wear them properly makes a difference
✔️ Check the expiration date
✔️ Store them properly, not in hot cars or wallets long-term

Our clinics in Bethlehem and Easton always have free condoms available in the waiting rooms. No appointment needed. Take what you need!

Health care doesn’t only happen in clinics. Last Friday, our team brought HIV/STI testing directly into the community at Ripple Community Inc. At HOPE, we know that meeting people where they are makes all the difference.
