You look like you have it together. You show up. You get things done. You take care of everyone else. You keep pushing forward.

From the outside it looks like strength but inside it can feel like constant pressure. High functioning anxiety and stress often hide behind productivity. People who experience this are often the ones others rely on. The dependable one. The helper. The person who keeps things moving. But the nervous system is still working overtime.

Your brain stays in a constant state of scanning and problem solving. You overthink conversations. You replay decisions. You stay busy because slowing down can make the thoughts louder.

So instead of collapsing, many people cope by doing more.
More working. More planning. More saying yes. More carrying. It can look like success while quietly draining your energy.

Over time this kind of constant activation can lead to emotional exhaustion, irritability, difficulty relaxing, and feeling disconnected from yourself. You do not have to completely fall apart for your stress to matter.

You do not have to hit burnout before you deserve support.
Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is pause long enough to ask yourself a simple question:

How am I actually doing?

If you are the one who is always holding everything together, you deserve spaces where you do not have to.
You deserve support before the crash. 🤍

“We cannot succeed when half of us are held back.” — Malala Yousafzai

Happy Women’s History & Empowerment Month! Mental health access, emotional safety, and equal opportunity matter. This month, we recognize the women who paved the way and we continue advocating for spaces where women can grow, lead, and heal freely.

By the time many couples reach out, they’re exhausted. Not because love is gone. But because the same conflict keeps replaying and nothing seems to shift.

In therapy, we often discover that the issue isn’t one partner being “too much” or the other being “not enough.” It’s the cycle they get pulled into when emotions run high.

When we slow the pattern down, something important happens. Blame softens. Understanding grows. And change becomes possible.

Tired doesn’t mean too late.

Exciting news…we moved! 🤍 For those close to us and our clients, the move has been something in the work for a few months. We celebrated yesterday afternoon with some family, friends & close ones to celebrate not only our growth but to the people who have made us who we are.

We did a little art activity and their pieces will be hung around the office to showcase a little piece of them that makes the heart of The Cozy Corner. So if you see one, just know it’s filled with love ❤️

From :
“To my family (including my in-laws), thank you for always supporting my goals and helping me reach my vision even as a mom. Your support shows that women, including mothers, can make incredible spaces, and this practice is the foundation of doing so.

To my mom - thank you for trusting my vision and for showing me a different way of being a woman than what was shown to you. That women can be loud, take up space, and my voice matters. That I matter.

To my husband - thank you for all the 2am rants and brainstormings creating the practice, the whirlwind of transitioning into being a business owner and for being an amazing husband and father. I love you tremendously.

And to my friends - you’re the bonus. You show up without any ties or reasonings aside from wanting to see me and my dream succeed. You lift me up, you empower me, and you are part of the backbone of why this exists. Thank you for being some of the firsts to believe in me and The Cozy Corner.” 🤍

Political uncertainty has a way of seeping into our bodies, our relationships, and our sense of safety, even when we’re doing our best to stay informed, grounded, or hopeful.

In this piece, Christina Bubba writes a poem to her brother in Harlem, NY while she’s away and reflects on what it’s like to live with uncertainty while still holding gratitude and love for life. Both can exist at the same time.

If you’ve noticed more tension, fatigue, or emotional heaviness lately, you’re not imagining it. These moments affect us deeply, even when they don’t always have words.

You’re allowed to protect your peace, stay connected to what matters, and move gently through this season.

Love Your Match event with some of The Cozy Corner team! Big thanks to Evelyn, Tiffany, Jeremy, Nayra and Courtney for showing up and participating in the experience. 🤍

This was our first Love Your Match: Mental Wellness Edition and wow…the energy in this room was a vibe ✨ Warm, supportive, genuine conversations. Laughter. Real connection. Exactly what we believe mental wellness spaces should feel like.

Therapy should feel like a conversation, not a clinical checklist and this night truly embodied that. So grateful for everyone who showed up and made it what it was.

Until next time…🤍 Trust us, you’re gonna want to be there.

**HUGE shoutout to who also helped with promotion and marketing for this event. She’s the GOAT and highly recommend. 😌**

Love Your Match is not therapy. And it’s not speed dating.

It’s a guided, shared experience centered around meaningful conversation, connection, and community.
You’ll be seated with strangers, given thoughtful prompts, and invited into conversations that move past small talk and into the things that actually matter. There’s no preparation required. No pressure to perform. Just showing up as yourself.

There will be 12 licensed therapists in the room, not to analyze or lead therapy, but to help hold the space so conversations feel safe, natural, and grounded. And here’s the fun part: they don’t know what’s coming either. Everyone, facilitators included, is stepping into the experience together in real time.

This is for anyone craving real connection this Valentine’s season. Whether you’re partnered, single, or somewhere in between, love doesn’t have to be romantic to be meaningful. Sometimes it looks like community. Sometimes it looks like being seen.

A warm drink is included.
Tickets are $30.
We’re six days away.
February 5 | 6–9 PM

Love isn’t always clear. Sometimes it’s confusing, layered, and hard to explain even when it mattered deeply.

Not every love is meant to last forever. Some are meant to teach us, shape us, or help us understand ourselves a little better.

If you’re sitting with questions about love, you’re not behind but you’re human.

💭 What has love taught you, even if it didn’t stay?
(You’re welcome to share, or just sit with it.)
