Not everyone knows how much is already growing on South Side.
--At the Easton Urban Farm, fresh produce is grown and shared with the community.
--At the Boys & Girls Club, kids and neighbors help care for raised beds.
--At Cheston Elementary, students learn how food grows—and help grow it themselves.

The new South Side Edible Walkway project doesn’t start from nothing. It starts from what’s already here!

What if you could walk through your neighborhood, and find food growing along the way? Not in a garden you have to join. Just… there. Part of the neighborhood.

That’s the idea behind the South Side Edible Walkway corridor. A general walking route that connects three existing local gardens, with space over time for additional herbs, fruit, and edible plants along the way.

Whether its at the Easton Urban Farm and the surrounding edible landscaping (with more coming soon!) or the raised beds at the Boys & Girls Club of Easton, or at Cheston Cougar Elementary and the Kellyn raised beds, there's already plenty of food, fun, and opportunity to work with others. And soon you'll see other features at Valley Health Partners Community Health Center and maybe neighbors sharing the bounty from their own gardens.

And don't forget about the first Edible Walkway picnic at the Boys & Girls Club of Easton on Friday, June 5, from 5-7pm. Here's a link to the event if you want to RSVP to help us plan! https://www.facebook.com/events/1502500718156718/

This past weekend, Blue Zones Lehigh Valley had a wonderful time at the annual Kellyn Impact Dinner!

As always, Chef Amanda and her incredible team knocked it out of the park with a delicious plant based meal that was devoured and enjoyed by all. The evening was a beautiful reminder of the Kellyn Foundation’s mission advancing food access, nutrition education, and dignity for individuals and families across our community. We’re so grateful for the heart, intention, and impact they bring to the food systems world 💙

For years people were working on bringing health care to South Side. And now we have Valley Health Partners, who yesterday celebrated the opening of their new pharmacy. VHP will also be an integral part of the upcoming Edible Walkway project, highlighting healthy foods, increased access, and community pride. More to come!
