📚 Oh, the Places You’ll Read! 🌟

Thanks to our incredible St. Luke’s volunteers, the magic of Dr. Seuss came alive for hundreds of students during Read Across America Week!

This year, our volunteers visited 20 partner schools across the region, as well as the St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital — sharing stories, sparking imagination and supporting a love of reading that can shape a child’s future.

But our commitment to literacy doesn’t stop here.
St. Luke’s proudly champions year-round reading programs in partnership with:
đź“– Carbon County Community Foundation
đź“– Reach Out and Read
đź“– Cops 'n' Kids Lehigh Valley

Together, we’re helping children dream bigger, learn boldly and build brighter futures — one book, one classroom and one caring volunteer at a time.

We are to recognize Kaitlyn Harth, RN, from St. Luke’s Bethlehem Campus as the newest DAISY Award winner.

Kaitlyn was nominated by a grateful patient's family member who shared:

"My husband, Tom, had so many wonderful nurses, but Kaitlyn stood out the most. She took the time to explain things to us and made sure my husband was always comfortable and had whatever he needed. When we had to make the very hard decision to take him off the ventilator, Kaitlyn sat with me and my family and just listened to our concerns. She was so compassionate and sympathetic to us and even stayed in the room when her shift was about to end. Kaitlyn was my earth angel, and I will never forget her kindness.”

The DAISY Award is an international recognition program that honors the skillful, compassionate care that nurses provide every day. St. Luke’s is proud to be a DAISY Award hospital partner, recognizing one of our nurses with this special honor each month.
