The Funhouse will be celebrating Dia De Los Mu***os on Sunday, November 2nd. We'd love for you to join our community altar by adding a photo of your loved one and an object to honor those who have passed. We will be serving hot drinks and snacks from 5:00-7:00 pm. Thursdays 3:30-5pm

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into fun with Technomages! Over eight weeks we’ll build a custom smart mirror, craft a holographic Andotrope, and even code our own “jump man” game in Python (think Google Dino, but with a personal twist!). Along the way we’ll explore the basics of computers, electronics, and physics, learning how the pieces all fit together. If you live for tinkering, coding, or just figuring out how things really work, this course is for you!

The Funhouse Music Program has some great offerings for teens this year! In our fully equipped studio, the Richie Moore Song Shop, we have: Beats Club on Mondays at 3:30 (Free! drop-ins welcome), Ladeez Electric Guitar on Tuesdays at 4:30, and Ableton Worksop on Thursdays at 3:30. Our Songlab only just started as well, and it’s not too late to join in this songwriting and recording immersion. We provide instruments and offer scholarships for all our programs. This Fall, Funhouse Commons will be proudly continuing their new music program, “Songlab”, running from October 13th to December 17th.
Songlab will be operating in the Funhouse’s brand new Songshop, with cutting edge recording gear. Songlab is a music education program where students will learn the art of songwriting and recording. There will be two classes per week geared towards students 11 to 18 years old. Led by local music educator and performer Pedro Lopez DeVictoria, Songlab will take students through the process of songcraft, from abstract idea to finished and publishable recording!

Music class sessions at the Funhouse begin next week! One of our favorites, Kids' Chorus, will be meeting on Fridays after school with Miss Mary, from 3:30-4:30. Kids can walk from the Christian School or the Elementary School with the Funhouse Staff and Afterschool Program kids. Last year the Kids' Chorus performed on the Village Green stage at the Tree Lighting, at the Orcas Center, and at the Island Market! This is a really fun group to be a part of - Performances are also just optional, so no pressure. Kids' Chorus is provided in collaboration with the Music Advocacy Group. We love building this musical network on Orcas!
