Are you having trouble sleeping through the night?
It could be due to some irregular anxiety in your life.

A few different ways to help sleep through the night if you are struggling with anxiety include:
^ Exercising throughout the day ---->excercise reduces stress hormones
^ Avoid stressful activities before bed such as work or that scary show you may like
^ Write down your current worries on paper and visualize letting them go before bed
^ Limit screen time as much as you can
^ Make the space around you as comforting and cozy as you can

Getting the right amount of sleep each night is very important for your physical and mental health to thrive. Make sure you are taking the step to relax and calm down from your day before laying to rest!

Stop accepting TOXIC behavior!!!

Your friends, significant other, parents, siblings, and anyone else in your life should not:
^ Put you down
^ disrespect you
^ irritate you
^ undervalue your time
^ undervalue yourself worth
^ cause you to feel unlovable
^ fail to appreciate your effort

If someone in your life is doing this or any other number of things that make you feel LESS than what you are worth you have the right to:
1. Have a conversation with them about your thoughts and feelings, as well as, set boundaries in your relationship
2. Take a step back from them if your needs and boundaries are not met
3. Not feel bad with their reaction to your feelings

You have a right to healthy relationships and should not settle for less than that. You are worthy of people who love you.

My challenge to you today is to have those hard conversations and to step into your healing and your own happiness journey by no longer accepting that kind of toxic behavior!!

If you allow it to anxiety can rule over your life. However, you can also decide to cope with it and use techniques and tools to overcome it.

Some things you could do to cope with your anxiety is:

1. Stop and breathe: Take a minute to relax your mind and take some deep breaths. Deep breathing can help you control your anxiety and calm your mind.
2. Figure out what's bothering you: I find that when I focus on understanding what's bothering me, I can look at it in a different light and find positive things to focus on.
3. Focus on what you can change: Is it a situation you're in? A place? A person? Some things you can't change, but some things you can step away from. Focus more on the things you can turn positive and less on those that bring negativity.
4. Distract yourself: Find things to do to get you out of your current head space. Go for a walk, watch your favorite show, eat a healthy snack you like. The possibilities are endless.
5. Strengthen your body and brain: Do things that you know are good for you. Don't allow yourself or others to put bad things into your body, both physically and mentally. Things like therapy and med management appointments are crucial for strengthening your body and brain.

Today I challenge you to start looking at your anxiety differently and allow yourself to focus on the positive. Good things are out there for those who can look for it.

Self-Talk is defined as the way you talk to yourself in your head, also known as your inner voice. Many of us struggle with positive self-talk and wire our brains to think the negative of ourselves instead. I am here to tell you that your negative self-talk does not define you. This weekend I challenge you to take your negative self-talk and flip it to a positive light!
"I can't do this" turns into "I CAN do this because I have done similarly difficult things before."
"I always make mistakes" turns into "I do many things well."
"My sister/brother/friend is better at this than I am" turns into "Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. I am better at some things than they are"
Try turning you negative self-talk into positive ones today!

Tips for managing anxiety can include:

1. Relaxation
This is an easier said than done topic. Stress is a big part of many people's daily lives. Taking even just 1 minute to relax and take some deep breaths could potentially really help the anxiety you are feeling.
2. Daily exercise
I know how hard it is to get into the gym sometimes. Life takes over and time seems to slip away. However, when you are doing small tasks like getting dressed, eating your lunch, or talking on the phone try and slip in some squats or maybe some jumping jacks. This will help with reducing anxiety symptoms throughout the day.
3. Being positive
Having a positive attitude and looking at things with a positive filter can not only cause anxiety to lessen but you can also make someone else's day go by just a little bit better than before.
4. Limit your Information
Sometimes things on social media or the news can cause some negative feelings to pop up that we weren't expecting. Limiting what we allow come in contact with our minds can help as well.
5. Health Check
If you can't deal with the anxiety on your own, looking into a good mental health provider can help with med management and therapy. Getting a health check and being honest with ourselves is so very important.
