Yesterday’s Day Three celebration at Vancrest was one for the books! 🇺🇸🎉

It’s been all fun and games during National Nursing Home Week! Residents enjoyed Plinko, delicious donuts, and a patriotic game of table ball in honor of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States. ❤️🤍💙

A special thank you to our wonderful friends from the Preble County District Library for joining us and helping make the day extra fun and memorable! 🎯🍩🎊

National Nursing Home Week fun continues at Vancrest! 🌼🎉

Today was full of smiles, laughter, and special moments as residents enjoyed exciting prize opportunities during “Prize Pong,” celebrated the amazing nurses who care for us each day, and planted beautiful flowers to add even more color and joy to our gardens. 💐💛

Today was filled with sweet treats and great tunes as everyone enjoyed Root Beer Float Day and special music by Jonah Keen! From singing along to sharing laughs over floats, it was a day full of smiles, memories, and good company. 💙✨

💖 Happy Mother’s Day from Vancrest 💐

Today we pause to honor the women who have given so much of themselves throughout their lives. The mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures who have loved unconditionally, given selflessly, and shaped generations through their strength, wisdom, and grace.

❤️ High Blood Pressure Education Month ❤️

May is High Blood Pressure Education Month, a great time to raise awareness about the importance of keeping blood pressure in a healthy range. High blood pressure often has no symptoms, which is why it is sometimes called the “silent condition,” but it can increase the risk of serious health concerns if left unmanaged.

Ways to Support Healthy Blood Pressure:
1️⃣ Eat a balanced diet Focus on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins while limiting salt and processed foods
2️⃣ Stay active Regular movement like walking, light exercise, or chair activities can help support heart health
3️⃣ Take medications as prescribed Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions and never skip doses
4️⃣ Manage stress Relaxation techniques, hobbies, and social time can all help reduce stress levels
5️⃣ Limit caffeine and alcohol These can sometimes contribute to higher blood pressure in some individuals
6️⃣ Get regular checkups Monitoring blood pressure helps catch changes early and keeps you informed

Taking small daily steps can make a big difference in protecting your heart and overall health. Awareness is the first step toward prevention and wellness.

Noodles in the air, balloons everywhere, and smiles all around 🎈

Our residents had a blast playing Noodle Balloon, keeping the balloon moving and the laughter going. There was plenty of reaching, cheering, and just the right amount of friendly competition.

🏛️ A step back in time and a day full of discovery!

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful outing to tour the beautiful Dayton Masonic Center. From the stunning architecture to the rich history, there was so much to see and learn throughout the visit.

It was a great day filled with conversation, exploration, and making new memories together ❤️

🎨🐌 Creativity and fun all in one day!

Our residents got crafty making marble snail creations and had a blast during our “Brews and Tattoos” activity. From colorful designs to lots of laughs, it was a day full of creativity, smiles, and a little extra fun along the way.
