The mission of Making Daughters Safe Again (MDSA) is to support and advocate for survivors of mother-daughter sexual abuse (mdsa), to educate professionals and the general public, and to inspire action, knowledge, healing and hope. We operate with an entirely volunteer staff of mental health professionals and interns with a passion for helping others. Since 1999, MDSA has been offering innovative online and in-person support services for survivors of mother-daughter sexual abuse, guest lectures, and comprehensive resources for anyone seeking information. We have been featured by homestead.com and included in a national (United States) press release as a model organization that utilizes the Internet. Our articles have been referenced in major publications, translated into several languages, and requested by health-care and legal professionals. Although based in the United States, MDSA has a truly global reach. Visitors to our web site come from over 30 different countries. Our members currently represent 7 different countries, with their stories of isolation and their struggle to receive proper treatment and intervention being universal themes. Our major annual event is a weekend retreat that is attended by survivors from all over the U.S. Our hope is that one day, the world will be more aware of mother-daughter sexual abuse so that little girls can be saved, and survivors can receive the information, support and validation that they so richly deserve.

MDSA remains one of the longest running (since 1999) online support communities, and we celebrated 10 years of in-person therapeutic events this year! Thank you to everyone who has made this organization possible.

We had an indescribably awesome retreat this weekend! Thank you to the extraordinary women who completed an amazing body of work. Their commitment to their healing - from traveling far distances to attend, to daring to be vulnerable - is inspirational.

The them for this year's retreat centered around the heart. Here are some "love jars" and a group heart mosaic stepping stone.

Making Daughters Safe Again (MDSA) is celebrating our 17th Anniversary today! We had a GREAT year conducting research, traveling to train other professionals, mentoring interns, educating others, and most of all, supporting our members, survivors of mother-daughter sexual abuse, through our online community and in-person workshops and annual retreat. Throughout our history, we have supported survivors from 7 different countries and every state in the U.S. Congratulations to our all-volunteer staff for their passion and dedication, and thank you to our members who inspire us every day.

Registration has opened for the 8th Annual Retreat for survivors of mother-daughter sexual abuse at the Jersey Shore from April 29-May 1, 2016. Spend a weekend healing, learning, creating new memories, and chatting with new friends as the sun sets over the beach. "Life-changing", "turning point in my healing" and "like home" are three popular ways that attendants describe their experiences.

Priority registration is currently underway for previous attendants. We also have a 5 hour workshop coming up on February 21st from 12-5pm in Long Branch, NJ. If you're a survivor and would like more information about either event, please email assistant@mdsa-online.org.
