MYTH BUSTING MONDAY
Cracking = Alignment?

When joints ‘pop’ during stretching or movement, many people assume something is being ‘put back into place.’

Most of the time it’s simply gas bubbles shifting in joint fluid.

It’s similar to cracking your knuckles.

Massage focuses more on muscle tension and tissue mobility rather than joint manipulation.

But when muscles relax, joints often move better, too!

Do you like when your joints crack or does it freak you out? Drop you comments below.

FUNNY FRIDAY

Client Expectations vs Reality

Expectation: “I’ll relax during my massage.”

Reality:
Your brain remembering every embarrassing thing you’ve ever done since 2004.

Relaxation takes practice.

Your nervous system sometimes needs time to realize:

“You’re safe. You can chill now.”

Have you ever had your brain do this during a massage?”

WELLNESS WEDNESDAY

Headache Trigger Point Demo

If you get headaches that start at the base of your skull, these muscles may be involved:

Meet the SUBOCCIPITALS
These tiny muscles work overtime when:

• posture is forward
• screens are low (Tech Neck)
• stress levels are high
• wrong pillow

Gentle pressure here can sometimes reduce tension headaches. Your thumb or a tennis ball could work!

But if your headaches are frequent or severe, always consult a medical professional.

Do your headaches start in the neck or temples? Drop your comments below.

MYTH-BUSTING MONDAY

“Stretching Alone Will Fix It”

‘If I just stretch more, this pain will go away.’

We hear this one a lot.

Stretching is helpful—but it’s not always the full solution.

Here’s why:

Sometimes a muscle feels tight because it’s:
• weak
• overworked
• compensating for another area
• or protecting an injury

In those cases, stretching alone may give temporary relief, but not lasting change.

That’s where targeted treatment like Deep Tissue Massage or Myofascial Release comes in—addressing the why behind the tension.

Also, muscle fiber has memory, so when we do something every day, over and over, we're teaching the muscle to think that action is its job.

👉 Have you ever stretched something over and over and it still felt tight?

Funny Friday

“Things Massage Therapists Hear Daily”

• ‘I didn’t know that was tight.’
• ‘You can go deeper.’
• ‘Oh wow… I never knew that muscle existed.’
• Client immediately falls asleep

We love all of it....except when someone apologizes for their muscles being tight.
You don’t apologize to the dentist for cavities, right? 😆

Tell me:
What’s something you’ve said during a massage? Keep it clean, people LOL

Wellness Wednesday

60-Second Neck Relief Stretch

“Most neck tension starts with one simple culprit: too much time looking down at phones and computers. AKA Tech Neck LOL

Try this quick reset:

1️⃣ Sit tall
2️⃣ Tilt ear toward shoulder
3️⃣ Hold 20 seconds
4️⃣ Repeat other side

This stretch targets the upper trapezius, one of the biggest troublemakers for desk workers.

Myth Busting Monday

“No Pain No Gain?”

“Does a massage have to hurt to work? 🤔

Short answer: No.

Therapeutic massage can be deep and effective without feeling like a medieval torture device.

Sometimes muscles release with slow, specific pressure—not brute force.

A good therapist listens to the tissue and the client.

Pain ≠ progress.

👉 Tell me honestly:
Do you prefer deep pressure or gentle therapeutic work?”

These are my feet! This is Stage 1 edema. It happened because I flew. Normally, it would go down after a night of rest, but that didn't happen this time. I had to walk around on these and then fly home! TORTURE! I was so uncomfortable that I decided to do some Lymphatic Drainage on myself. These pics were taken 35 minutes apart! Wanna hear more? Call me and we can do a virtual consultation...732-685-6131
