So I was late for a patient and I KNOW I should not speed. I was not paying attention to my odometer.

(Sirens) Officer on motorcycle is tailing me and telling me to pull over.

Me: Groans and pulled over.

Officer: “Do you know why I pulled you over? License and registration please.”

Me: (playing ignorant like I always do) “Sir, I have no idea”

Officer: “You we’re going 70mph on a 50 mph zone”

Me: “Really? Okay. Before you take my registration can I do one thing? I’m a physical therapist and was on my way to a client that I’m late for. I know this will take a while so let me call my client’s granddaughter to let her know I have to cancel today’s appointment. It won’t take long.”

Officer: “Oh you do massages?”

Me: (nearly rolled my eyes). “No I primarily help older folks with functional problems like walking etc. I’ll just make a quick phone call I promise”.

Officer: “Oh! My mom had someone like you once upon a time! Don’t call or cancel...Umm.....just try to slow down and have a nice day.”

Me: (secretly pumps fist and starts to drive as Mr. Officer waves)
