There are nearly 300 species of edible mushrooms in Wisconsin. This one, the destroying angel is extremely poisonous and not one of them. But, it's beautiful nevertheless.

Most people in Wisconsin pass these up in search of morels. Pheasant back mushrooms are especially mild and tasty...and very plentiful. The next time you're in the woods, look for these. Fist size and smaller. Saute them in a pan. They're amazing!
