It takes a community to support the community! Consider donating food or time to support your local food pantries. We are proud to support members and provide access to community resources but unfortunately resources between areas are vastly different and often can’t meet the needs of each area.
What have we noticed?
There is a significant difference between resources such as food pantries, hot meals, clothing, job support, transportation and care providers in the Eau Claire area compared to our communities in the Rice Lake and Roberts area. Oftentimes, member needs go unmet in smaller areas which cause cities such as Eau Claire, Menomonie or Chippewa Falls to support outside their capacity.
Every year, we’re seeing fewer food donations and having to buy more food to keep our shelves stocked all while funding is decreasing and demand is growing. Our food pantry is serving more community members than ever before, but doing so is becoming harder.
