Dave came to Dove Healthcare – West Eau Claire after a significant stroke affecting his functional mobility and independence. When he arrived, he was not able to stand, walk, or help with any grooming tasks; he was completely dependent.

Dave’s goals were to get back to walking, transferring, and completing more ADL tasks. He is now walking with a quad cane, transferring independently, and is getting around with a power wheelchair.

Dave shared, “The nursing staff were some of the nicest people I have ever met. My experience with therapy was very good. I have nothing to compare it to, but I was content with my progress. All of the walking tasks helped me improve. I enjoyed the Dynavision as well. Anything that had a measurable component for me to see the improvements and results, I enjoyed. Something that I could visibly improve at was most rewarding to me, as I am competitive in nature."

"Yes, I would recommend Dove Healthcare for the place to go for rehabilitation and recovery. The people seem to know what they are doing and are skilled in their fields. They are genuinely helpful."

Kristy, an instructor at CVTC shared, "I just wanted to reach out to let you know that Nicole has gone out of her way to help students on 2nd floor. They are very hesitant to start passing meds for the first time and Nicole has been absolutely great at putting them at ease. Just wanted to express our sincere gratitude for her, and for Dove Healthcare this semester."

Congratulations to Lulu, our June 2025 Rookie of the Month! Lulu started working for the nutritional services department in February 2025 as a part time hostess/aide. She helps deliver breakfast trays, and now assists with resident daily menus. She enjoys spending that time talking to the residents and getting to know them. Residents are always commenting on how fun and pleasant she is when she comes into their rooms. Lulu likes to keep herself busy and will pick up shifts when needed. You can see her biking to work on her bright yellow e-bike! She is such a wonderful asset to our department,” shared Nutritional Services Director Sheila Moehle.

Lulu responded, “I am very grateful, but the thing I like best about being part of Dove Healthcare - West Eau Claire is knowing I have formed a family. I really enjoy caring for the patients here and making sure they eat and get well. I enjoy ‘Bob & Lacing’ as a hobby, as well as reading. I was born in Rochester, New York, but was raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico. I thank all of you!”

Congratulations to Karrie, our June 2025 Employee of the Month! Karrie is a wonderful and experienced nurse who always has a smiling face and great attitude. She works efficiently and is a great mentor for new employees. Her kindness and compassion go a long way in taking great care of our residents! Karrie, you are amazing, keep up the awesome work,” shared Nurse Case Manager Kaitlyn Haynes.

Karrie responded, “One year ago, my world changed when Sacred Heart Hospital closed. I was planning to stay on the behavioral health unit until I retired, but someone else had other plans. I made a full circle in my career. I had worked at Dove Healthcare - West Eau Claire prior to going to Sacred Heart Hospital for 22 years. I was fearful to come back to medical nursing, but I found that my co-workers and managers are very helpful and supportive. I found great support from everyone when I lost my father late last year. Thank you to everyone.”

She is reliable and always willing to go the extra mile to help her co-workers and the residents. Ryder provides quality care as a CNA that is individualized to each resident. Ryder responded, “I am 16 and live in Osseo. I’ve always had a passion for helping others and being there for them. Thinking back to last year's Summer Jamboree has us SO EXCITED for the next one! Lucky for us, it's just one day away!

Congratulations to Kaelyn, our May 2025 Employee of the Month! "Kaelyn started with us a little over two years ago as a CNA and has displayed a tremendous amount of growth during this time. She ended up transitioning to a nurse tech role which she excelled in with her new level of responsibilities, and most recently, Kaelyn obtained her LPN license.

Kaelyn provides excellent care to the residents and always makes sure their needs are being met to the fullest. She is well liked by her peers and residents as she is always willing to help others while maintaining a positive attitude.

She is also noted to maintain versatility and adapt with ease to her assignments.

Congratulations, Kaelyn, on being voted Employee of the Month, and keep up the great work! We look forward to continuing to see you grow,” shared Nurse Case Manager Steph Buchholz.

Kaelyn responded, “I’m extremely honored to have been recognized by my co-workers. Emily is responsible for overall performance and operations, which includes supervising the assisted living directors and assisted living nurse consultants. Our assisted living locations will benefit greatly from an enhanced, collaborative focus on developing goals, implementing strategy, identifying efficiencies, and leveraging resources

Dove Healthcare has experienced great success over the years with our HomeGROWN approach: recognizing passion, dedication, and capabilities in team members and then supporting them with growth as opportunity arises.

Emily is the perfect fit for this new position having achieved multiple promotions since joining our team almost 10 years ago. She has advanced from resident assistant, lead resident assistant, assistant director, director, multi-location director, and administrator.
