🤔Q: What part of your profession do you enjoy the most? (ie, language intervention, narratives, motor speech, fluency, semantics, phonology) and Why....?

💬A: I enjoy language intervention the most because it allows me to be creative ✨ and tailor sessions to each student’s interests. 📚 🧐 It’s fun to build 🧱activities around what they like and see them stay engaged while working on their communication skills. 🗣

🤔Q: Do you have a fun experience🤗 to share about teletherapy? 💻

💬A: A funny moment I’ve had during teletherapy was with a student who always loved playing hangman. 🧩 One day, instead of playing, he decided he was going to be the teacher 👨‍🏫and had me solve a math 🔢 ✖️➗🟰equation he made up. It completely caught me off guard and was such a fun moment. 😅

🤔Q: What part of your profession do you enjoy the most? (ie, language intervention, narratives, motor speech, fluency, semantics, phonology) and Why....?

💬A: One of the parts I enjoy most is language intervention. I find it fascinating 👏to see how differently each student processes information 🤔and expresses themselves. 🗣️ I feel like I really get to learn about their personalities, interests, and the unique ways they think during language activities. Of course, watching something click💡and seeing their confidence grow as they make progress toward a goal is always exciting to witness. 💖

🤔Q: Do you have a fun experience🤗 to share about teletherapy? 💻

💬A: One thing that always makes me laugh 😆during teletherapy is when students get excited to show me 🫵something through the screen. 💻 They usually hold the object extremely close to the camera, so all I can see is a small, blurry section of it while they eagerly wait for my response. 🧐

🤔Q: What part of your profession do you enjoy the most? (ie, language intervention, narratives, motor speech, fluency, semantics, phonology) and Why....?

💬A: I enjoy working with students on language skills because it naturally leads to meaningful conversation 💬and helps them make connections to their everyday lives. 👥 I especially love 💖seeing them use those skills more confidently in real-world 🌎communication!

🤔Q: Do you have a fun experience🤗 to share about teletherapy? 💻

💬A: Since I have a few opportunities a year to complete site visits 🏫and meet students 👨‍🦱👱‍♀️ face-to-face, those visits are always memorable! One of the funniest parts is how surprised students can be when we finally meet in person. 👐 I’ve had students say things like, “Whoa, you’re way taller in person,” 🧍‍♀or act surprised 😲that I’m the same person they’ve been working with all year. 😂

💬A: Right now, I enjoy artic/phono, 🗣 especially with being telepractice. 💻 It's so fun ✨ and engaging 💡with the kids! 🫶

🤔Q: Do you have a fun experience🤗 to share about teletherapy?
💬A: My funny story is that I went to do an in-person site visit for the first time halfway through a school year but the staff and students had only seen me online. 💻👀 When I showed up to the school 🏫, everyone had to comment on how they didn't realize how short I was. 🤷‍♀️A few of my students were taller than me and thought that was pretty funny. 😆 And that's why I do telepractice! ;)💖

🤔Q: What part of your profession do you enjoy the most? (ie, language intervention, narratives, motor speech, fluency, semantics, phonology) and Why....?
💬A: I love the variation of speech and language therapy, so I don't have a definite favorite; however, I love 💖watching articulation kiddos click with a sound🗣 and recognize that they finally have it down! 🙌

🤔Q: Do you have a fun experience🤗 to share about teletherapy?
💬A: My students make me laugh 😆every single day—but I think it's when I get to visit the kids in person and every time, one student says "WAIT?! Did you come out of the computer?!" 💻👋

Certified Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
C-SLPA Position
Professional Speech Therapists, LLC is accepting applications for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant. Applicants must live in the Eau Claire area, Northern Wisconsin, rural SD, or Fargo ND. Applicants must have an associate or bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders. A speech language pathology assistant works directly with students onsite at the schools to practice skills presented by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist, helps the SLP carry out the student’s plan, and assist the SLP in collecting data.

Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
ASHA Certification. [Applicant may be considered if they will soon finish their degree and certification can be obtained in the first semester].
Must have a strong ability to communicate with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
Basic academic and computer skills.

🤔Q: What part of your profession do you enjoy the most? (ie, language intervention, narratives, motor speech, fluency, semantics, phonology) and Why....
💬A: I really enjoy all areas of our profession, but I'd have to say that phonology is my favorite. Starting to hear 👂 students use the correct speech 🗣️ sounds is very exciting and rewarding! 🤩

🤔Q: Do you have a funny story🤗 to share about teletherapy?
💬A: I had a middle school student 🙋‍♂️ who was telling me a story about using his Google Home speaker 🔊 at his house 🏡 the night prior and it accidentally activated the Google Home that I have in my house 🏡. I'm not sure what the Google Home thought it heard him say, but all of a sudden 🎶"You Can Call Me Al" by Paul Simon 🎶 was blasting 📣 at full volume from my Google speaker. I mute my speaker 🔇at the beginning of every work day now. 🫡
