In 1989, Sister Marian Stromeyer saw a need in the Rio Grande Valley — a place where individuals facing serious illness could receive care in a peaceful, home-like setting rather than a hospital.

Her vision was simple:

Our nonprofit Special Care Facility provides a home-like environment for individuals receiving hospice services, where patients and their families can find comfort, support, and peace during life’s most difficult moments.
