Our condolences go out the families and friends of Rebecca Cheryl Kennedy.

Rebecca Cheryl Kennedy, 74, passed away on March 22, 2025, in Madisonville, Kentucky. Born on October 3, 1950, Cheryl was a woman of boundless love and generosity, welcoming many into her heart and earning the beloved title of “Nana.”

Cheryl’s dedication to lifelong learning led her through East and West Side Caldwell County Schools before proudly earning her GED. Her strong work ethic shone throughout her career, beginning at just 17. She dedicated 26 years to Arvin Industries, and after its closure, continued her hardworking spirit at Shawnee Plastics in Kuttawa and later at Bremner in Princeton. Though health challenges led to early retirement, her resilience and spirited nature never wavered.

As a member of Eddyville Second Baptist Church, she found joy in fellowship and service when able to attend. She was happiest when doting on her grandchildren, playfully teasing her coworkers, and caring for baby animals—a testament to her nurturing spirit.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Lynn Barnett (David); brothers, James Wilson (Dinah) and John Wilson (Linda); grandchildren, Bailey C. Barnett (Warren Boaz), Morgan D. Barnett, and Amber Clendening (Adam); and great-grandchildren, Colton Ray, Axl Eugene, and Peyton Lynn. She also leaves behind numerous chosen by love grandchildren, along with nieces, Stephanie Hallum and Brandi Wilson, and great nephews who loved her. Leaving behind her long time best friend Pat Walker Miller.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, James Worthington Wilson and Alice Evangeline (Storms) Wilson; sister, Judy Aldridge; and nephews, Michael Dean Brennan and Eli Wilson.

A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at a later date, honoring her love for summer and sunshine. Her legacy of kindness, hard work, and unconditional love will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her
