Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of Karen Ann Eaton.

Karen Ann Eaton, age 74 of Kuttawa, died at 4:49 am. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026 at Baptist Health in Paducah. Karen was a member of Kuttawa First Baptist Church. She graduated from Lyon County High School in 1969. She attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY, and then transferred to Murray State University in Murray, KY. She eventually earned her accounting degree, putting it to good use in her long and varied career.
Karen lived and worked in Kentucky, South Korea, Georgia, Oregon, Wisconsin and Texas. Her career choices took her from Hilltop Nursing Home in Kuttawa, KY where she worked as an aide for her grandmother, Rowena Dunn, to a local favorite, The Diamond Restaurant in Lake City, KY. She taught English in South Korea, then utilized her artistic skills at Sun River Graphics in Oregon, then made a career change to the trucking industry, working in both Wisconsin and Texas. She transferred her driving and logistics skills to the Katy Independent School District in Katy, TX where she spent over 20 years driving school children, training drivers, competing in bus rodeos, and eventually managing the logistics of transporting over 20,000 school children safely to and from school each day. Karen retired from the Katy Independent School District as the Assistant Director of Transportation and then relocated with her husband, Gene, to Kuttawa.
Karen was bold, artistic, organized and very much lived life on her own terms. She loved her house, her family, her animals, and she will surely be missed by all. Karen was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Eugene Eaton on December 7, 2021 and her father Kenneth E. Dunn in 2004 grandparents Shelley and Rowena Hayden Dunn and Joe E. and Allie Grubbs Scott.. Survivors include one son Jason Humphrey of DeWitt, Virginia, her mother Katherine Scott Dunn of Kuttawa, KY, 5 grandchildren, Katrina N. LoFaso, Tylon R. Humphrey, Gabrielle Humphrey, Francis Dunne Humphrey, Alessandra Dunne Humphrey and one great grandchild Greyson LoFaso. three brothers Kyle H. Dunn of Eddyville KY, Kim D. Dunn of Chiefland FL, Kirk E. Dunn of Silverdale WA, and one sister Kathy S. Dunn McPhall of Smithville TN, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Kuttawa Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Jones officiating with burial to follow. Dunn's Funeral Home in Eddyville is in charge of the arrangements.

Steve Junior Peek, age 72 of Eddyville passed away at Baptist Health Hospital in Paducah Friday, February 6, 2026. Steve was an avid UK fan which the grandchildren called Popi.
Steve's parents were the late Henry Thomas Peek and Dorothy Mae Riley Peek. He is preceded in death by his ex-wife Melba Colgan Peek and one brother John Earl Peek.
Survivors include two sons Daniel Peek of Eddyville, David Peek of Eddyville, two sisters Betty Lou Lambert and husband John of Prairieville, LA, Patrica Fritz and husband Curtis of Eddyville, one brother Tom Peek and wife Judy of Kuttawa, ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, February 13, 2026 at Dunn's Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Jed Ramey officiating. Burial will follow in Fredonia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Dunn's on Thursday.

Our condolences go out to the families and friends of Richard "Ricky" Campbell.
Richard (Ricky) Eugene Campbell, age 67 of Smithland passed away peacefully at Ray and Kay Echstein Hospice Center Friday, January 30, 2026. Ricky worked at James Marine for 25 years (1994-2019). After retiring he spent his remaining years loving and spoiling his grandbabies along with his lifelong passion for hunting, fishing and fixing things.
Ricky's parents were the late Gene Audrey Campbell and Anna Pearl Koon Campbell. He is preceded in death by his wife Sandra Lynne Lady Campbell, three brothers Davie Campbell, Jimmy Campbell (wife Lisa) and Stevie Campbell (wife Sheryl).
Survivors include two daughters Robin Lynne Mallory (husband Robbie) of Smithland, Ky, Rikki Eugenia Nethery (husband Andrew) of Smithland, Ky, three brothers Roger Campbell (wife Tina) of Tiline, Ky, Neal Campbell (wife Belinda) of Grand Rivers, Ky, Kenny Campbell (Wife Christy) of Smithland, Ky, one sister Cathy Smith (husband Rick) of Springfield, Ky, six grandchildren Kayce, Kensley, Taylor, Rayden, Kylee, Khloee and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, February 2, 2026 at Dunn's Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Bobby Lady officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm at Dunn's on Monday before the funeral which is at 1:00 pm.

Kathy E. Hicks, age 66 of Kuttawa Ky, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Lake Barkley Health and Rehabilitation in Kuttawa, Ky. Born July 27, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Charles William Hicks and Martha Sue Smith Hicks. She was preceded in death by four sisters Mary S. Woods, Cindy Woods. Teresa Hicks and Tonia Sheri Johnson. She is survived by one brother Jacky Dybendal of Mayfield, Ky. There will be a memorial service planned for a later time.

Denver L. Gibbs, age 71 of Lake City, KY, died early Wednesday morning at Baptist Health hospital in Paducah. Mr. Gibbs had retired from Vulcan Materials after 35 years and also had a used car dealership, Value Motors, and other used car ventures as well over the last 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Carrie Crick Gibbs, two sisters Phylllis Hutchison, Velma Duvall and one brother Howard Gibbs. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Julie Underwood Gibbs of Lake City, two sons John M. Gibbs (Deanna) of Grand Rivers, Daniel Gibbs of Eddyville, six grandchildren Gianna Gibbs, Brittany Gibbs Ashley Rowan, Trystin Gibbs, Tannah Gibbs and Kensleigh Edwards. Garry w. “Pudgy” McNeely, age 72 of Eddyville, died at 5:24 am Monday, December 22, 2025 at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Pudgy had retired as a mechanic from Vulcan Materials in Lake City, KY and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying all things regulated by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. He was a member of Joppa Masonic Lodge #167 in Eddyville and was of the Baptist Faith. Pudgy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Donohue McNeely of Eddyville, two sons Bobby McNeely (Kelly) of Paducah, Bradley McNeely (Cody) of Lexington, KY, one daughter Cheryl Burdette (Ronnie) of Suwanee, KY, two grandchildren Logan Burdette and Linus McNeely. Also surviving is one brother Randy McNeely and one sister Jeretta Lefan of Dycusburg, KY. He was preceded in death by two brothers Larry McNeely and Jerry (Head) McNeely. His parents were Plenty L. Jr. and Hilda Griggs McNeely.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Dunn's Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Jimmy Jones officiating and burial will follow in Rolling Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until funeral time at 1:00 on Tuesday.

Raymond Owen, age 82 of Evansville IN, passed away at 7:50 am Thursday, December 11, 2025 at River Point Nursing and Rehab. He was the son of the late Jesse Owen and Hazel Rhea Turley Owen Survivors include his two grandchildren Ayden Owen, Erika Owen and their mother Brandi Burgdorf of Evansville; his son's best friend and caregiver Keith and wife Melanie Blaize and children Zach, Jayce, Evan; and his female friend Virginia Bowen. Our condolences go out to the families and friends of Donald Glenn Reed.

Donald Glenn Reed, 84, of Princeton, KY. Passed away on December 8, 2025, peacefully at his home. He was born July 12, 1941, to the late Howard Don and Minnie Belle (Collins) Reed.

Donnie was a simple man, He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, watching his basketball games and sitting and swinging on his front porch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years, Donna Marie Reed and one brother, Danny Reed.

He is survived by two sisters, Peggy Downen (Paul) and Becky Conner (Kenny); his daughters Tina McAllister and Valerie Johnson-Reed (Curtis Stokes), one son, Bryan Reed (Angie); grandchildren Dawn McAllister, Anna Knight (Jeff), Jamie McAllister, Ford Johnson (Brooke), Morgan Pringle (Brandon), Nicole Reed and Landon Reed (Alicen); great grandchildren Jaiden Taylor, Adrian and Ryan Knight, Lydia and Reed Johnson, Zane and Zyla Buttry, Ayden Kanik, Tucker Pringle, Everett Reed, Rylan and Brayson Reed.

He is being cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of Wanda McPherson.

Wanda Lee McPherson, 90, of Kuttawa, Kentucky, departed this earth on Monday, the 8th of December 2025.
Born on June 11, 1935, in Crittenden County, Kentucky, to Hershel and Margie (nee Farley) Clark, Wanda was raised in the small town of Blackford, Kentucky, and often reminisced about her childhood there. In 1951, she married Wallace McPherson, of Kuttawa, Kentucky. Together they had three children, and a horde of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wanda's greatest joys in life were cooking, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and, in this humble writer's opinion, an amazing grandmother. She was also a devout Christian, and a longtime member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings (Joyce, Betty, Roger, Melvin, Mary, Nickey, and Jackie), her husband Wallace McPherson, her son Rev. Ronnie McPherson, her son-in-law Russell Dowdy, and two grandson-in-laws, Jeff McClure and Jon Bushey.
She is survived by her siblings: Sandy Armstrong, Danny Clark, Paula McDyer, Norma Gatten, Mollie Kelly; her son Randy (Natalie) McPherson, and daughter Debbie Dowdy; grandchildren Brandee Bushey, Joe (Heather) Childress, Alisha (Tyler) Bohannon, Wesley McPherson, Paige McPherson, and Hunter McPherson; two bonus grandchildren, Brandon Dowdy and Shelby Peek; and her great-grandchildren, Christopher and Abbigail Bushey, Dayne and Maci Childress, Hillary and Sam Bohannon, Breanna McPherson, and Killian McPherson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, at Dunn's Funeral Home in Eddyville from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Hagan officiating. Burial will follow at Kuttawa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Kuttawa Cemetery Fund c/o Butch McCollum 1349 Lake Barkley Dr., Kuttawa, Ky 42055.

Wanda Nell Balentine Downing, age 79 of Kuttawa passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, October 26, 2025. Wanda was a devoted member of Hopewell Baptist Church, where she has been attending for over 40 years. She will be fondly remembered for her love of baking pies, tending to her beautiful flower garden and helping Johnie in the corn patches.
Wanda's parents were the late Ralph Balentine and Mary Louise Lovins Balentine. She was preceded in death by two sisters Sue McCoy, Doris
Keel and one grandson Lathan Capps.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years Johnie Downing of Kuttawa; two sons Ralph Downing and wife Melissa of Smyrna, TN; Michael Downing of Kuttawa; grandchildren Brittney Downing and husband Gavin Gusich of Linn Valley, Kansas; Andrea Lady of Sanford, FL; Codie Lady of Princeton, KY; Evan Capps of Clarksville, TN; great grandchildren Noble Oliver of Sanford, FL; Brooklyn Capps of Ft. Iona J. Belle Snyder Riggle, age 93 of Kuttawa, formerly from Between the Rivers, died at 3:17 am, Friday morning, October 17, 2025, in Lewisburg, TN. J Belle, whose exceptional baking skills yielded the most scrumptious coconut cake and whose fondness for two-dollar bills was well-known, will be deeply missed. Her presence illuminated any gathering, and her zest for life, particularly evident at the Friday night street dances, inspired countless people. Her love and legacy will be cherished. She loved to dance, to quilt and was an avid member of Between the River's Inc. along with the Red Hat Society, Woodmen of the World and was bestowed the prestigious title of Kentucky Colonel. J. Belle's parents were the late Henry Leonard Snyder and Cynthia Trimm Snyder. She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away in 1997, Edward Lee Riggle; three brothers R. Lynn Snyder, Cleaburne Hayes Snyder, Cecil Snyder and two sisters Maude Downing and Arvella Forsythe.
