Vroom vroom! Harley motorcycle rides at the Shores today with Mark, our wonderful volunteer, who has a huge love of motorcycling and shares that passion with us each summer! We even got 97 year old, Jane, out on the Harley for a ride!!! Oh, and we can’t forget about the mother daughter duo, Nancy and Jenna, who went to Chanhassen Dinner Theater to see Grease, but made it back just in time for a ride in their full Pink Lady attire!

Our annual family picnic was a success! We roasted a pig, had great entertainment from the Prairie Jazz Ramblers, balloon animals and babies from Dotz the Clown, lots of fun and games and it was so great to welcome so many resident family members for the event! Thanks to everyone that came out to join us for the fun! And a special thanks to the Young Men’s Service League for helping with the party!

Minnehaha Falls picnic lunch! The rain moved us inside for the picnic but we still got some great photo ops by the falls, and then enjoyed a scenic drive around the uptown lakes on the way home!

We hosted the Battle of the Burgers here at Elim Shores last week! 4 Cassia sites (Elim Shores, Haven Homes, Chapel View, and Parkview Senior Living), 4 burgers, 5 official judges (Cassia CEO Bob Dahl, Eden Prairie Mayor Ron Case, EP Fire Chief Scott Ge**er, EP Police Chief Matt Sackett, and EP Police Lieutenant Jen Ficcadenti) and a whole lot of excitement! It was a tight race, but the Elim Shores team, Ryan and Steve, ended up pulling off the win for this year’s Burger Battle Champions with their tasty Birria Burger, a play on the popular Birria taco. Following the Elim Shores burger battle tradition, all the losers got an ice water bath on the patio! Better luck next year, Haven Homes, Chapel View & Park View!

One happy guy who just got an American flag hung outside his patio! Al Krause goes out to play taps on his trombone every single evening at sunset, to honor his country. This flag is something he has been wanting for a while, and he just happened to mention it to the right guy (the Elim Maintenance Director!) who put it up for him today!

Despite the rainy morning, we braved a trip to see all the beauty the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum has to offer, and found a lovely spot to enjoy our picnic outside! It was a delight!

Getting festive for the 4th of July with our Crafter’s Corner! We had fun making these cute little patriotic gnome door hangs!
