In 1945, Actus took its first steps toward transforming dairy by-products into high-value nutrition.

This nearly 100 year old photo from the Wisconsin Historical Society speaks to how far whey has come, from being considered a “waste” byproduct from cheesemaking to now taking over grocery store aisles. As of 2025, Actus operates seven plants within 150 miles of where this photo was taken.
