🌈 Why The Pride Institute?

Founded in 1986 during the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, The Pride Institute has been a beacon of hope and healing for the LGBTQIA+ community navigating substance use disorders. We understand the unique challenges our community faces—and we've built a space that celebrates identity while supporting recovery.

-Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

💖 Why We’re Different
-Staff trained in culturally affirming care
-Support that continues beyond treatment
-A judgment-free space to begin your healing journey

Whether it’s you or someone you love who’s ready to take that step, we’re here—and we’re proud to help. Reach out today and find support that truly understands you.

Kevin's Sobriety Social Tip: Be gentle on yourself. Recovery isn't linear, but it gets easier. Triggers happen, and they're important to acknowledge and recognize, but give yourself grace. You are not defined by your struggles. To quote Marianne Williamson, "our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate; our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure."

International Drag Day was founded in 2009 to celebrate all things drag and aims to share creativity and culture. Drag has a long history, with performances traced back to the 1800s. Activist William Dorsey Swann is considered to be the first person to call themselves a "queen of drag." Today, it is used to educate others through events such as Drag Queen Story Hours and is an art form of being true to yourself and self-expression.

This week, we celebrate Nonbinary Awareness Week. People who are nonbinary have been celebrated in cultures for centuries, and we continue that celebration of the beloved members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ family. With icons such as Q***r Eye's Jonathan Van Ness, comedian Mae Martin, and many more, we love our nonbinary family members here at The Pride Institute. Happy Nonbinary Awareness Week to everyone!
