Hello, my dear friends,

For those who meditate but haven’t gotten much benefit i tell them this... You need to let go of everything in your meditation and make a promise to yourself to become the best person you can be.

For the good things you have done for others, you promise to continue to do these things for the rest of your life. For the negative things you have done, you feel true sorrow for doing them, forgive yourself, and promise not do these kinds of things anymore. Then you let go of them completely. They are gone forever.

When your conscious mind is filled with all the distractions of daily life it cuts you off from all the wonderful benefits you will receive from your consciousness. A good way to begin experiencing these benefits is by focusing on one beautiful thing.

For example, focus your thoughts on the sun. In your mind see the sun shining brightly in a perfect blue sky. Feel the wonderful warmth of the sun on your face. Feel the warmth spread throughout your body as you relax more deeply. Focus only on the sun’s beautiful rays beaming down on you.

Anytime throughout the day when you notice your shoulders creeping up to your ears, that is so wonderful to have that moment of awareness, now you can use this opportunity to lower your shoulders and relax. 😊

Dropping your shoulders is a shortcut to relaxing your body.

Close your eyes, drop your shoulders, and put a big smile on your face.

Take a few deep breaths and feel how good you feel.

Doing this a few times a day can help you relieve stress and tension.

Joy and appreciation might not be in every moment of your life. But as you practice seeing the best in everything and everyone, joy and appreciation will come forward and each time they do, you will feel more expansion and more joy.

There will be times when you haven’t had the most terrific day and that’s okay. Please be gentle with yourself. What is important is that you are moving in the right direction. If you are criticizing yourself, or have unloving thoughts about yourself, then forgive yourself. Think of all the good things you are doing for yourself and for others.

”No matter what is before me, no matter how things ‘appear to be’, I know in my heart, that Joy, appreciation and gratitude is my natural, timeless state of being.”

Life is an awesome, amazing experience of synchronistic events that bring us together in powerful ways. We are drawn together through the awareness that we are all connected through the energy of the universe.

Being in touch with the universe can help us deepen our meditations and our connections to each other. It can also help you know yourself better by trusting that you are one with everything around you.

By quieting our minds and tapping into the profound love and light of the cosmos we are able to slow down and clarify our inner vision.

When our body and mind are moving fast, our visions become a blur. As you slow down, you use more of your physical senses to experience your surroundings.

For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, we’re moving through the peak of High Yang Summer Energy—active, fiery, expansive.

Hello, my dear friends,

August is a transition month though we might not think of it as such. August is a month that can see some of the hottest days of summer while each day moves us closer to the start of autumn.

The signature of summer energy is fire, yang energy, always going outward wanting to expand and grow. But in August the energy signature begins to turn inward.

You still see things growing in nature but the earth is already sending more energy to the roots, storing it up for the fall and winter to come.

August 7th is a special day because that’s when fall energy starts coming in and the transition is fully underway. The energy starts turning from yang to yin.

When you look at a Yin/Yang symbol you will see what I mean.

The transition point is the tail, very narrow but expanding very rapidly.

The energy transition from yang to yin will start moving very quickly now. But, when you look at the full symbol you will always see the balance it has, the harmony.

This is our goal for life; to be in balance and live in harmony. Following the transitions of nature can help us do that.

Now is a time for us to start preparing for fall and winter and storing up our energy and not expending all of it.

Expending energy in summer is very natural and that’s fine. Fire energy, yang energy is so intense there is always plenty there in summer. That will not be true much longer.

What does it mean to walk on an awakening path?

Awakening is living what I love to do and be. As I love to be in each moment, I become more aware of my own Soul.

Imagine – you are walking on a path through fields of green grass. Everywhere, there are bright little dandelions. What do you say to yourself? “My goodness! Look at all these obnoxious little weeds everywhere!” Or, “What beautiful little flowers! I’m going to pick a few and make a nice green salad and some tea with them!”

Maybe you remember the joy of plucking these flowers as a child. Or maybe you think with disgust of the toil of digging them up in your garden.

Now. The truth is, there is just you, the fields, and the dandelions.

Are dandelions obnoxious? Are they delightful?

If you really look at it, those experiences – delight or disgust – have to do with YOU

Do you want dandelions to bring you happiness and joy? Or do you want them to make you miserable? This is the choice you get to make.

That is how life is, and that is what it means to choose to walk on an awakening path.
Our life is like a path. We have to walk it every day. Along the way, we will encounter many things, people, and events. Every one of these can open our hearts more, teach us more about life, and deepen our connection to others, to the living world around us, and even to the universe.

This path we walk every day can bring us more joy, peace, gratitude, and contentment. Or, it can turn us around, wear us out, and take us deep into thorns, thickets, and muddy places. Our mind might end up going one way, our body another, and our spirit – who knows! We can get lost easily. That means being disconnected within ourselves, disconnected from what is around us, and being caught up in pain and suffering.

This path of thickets and thorns is a very easy path to go down. It is very easy to see weeds and nuisances. But it is just as easy to see flowers and delight, and to walk an easier path.

That is exactly what Spring Forest Qigong helps you to do!
