With mixed emotions and much prayer, we have to announce we will be closing after 55 years of serving Rockingham County. We will be available to you until May 15th at 7pm. After this time all records will be located at Walgreens. Some of our staff will be working there to ease the transition and help you get comfortable at this location. We would love to thank you for the support Mitchell’s Drug has received over the years of serving the community. We will cherish all the wonderful memories that will forever be in our heart. Did you know insulin resistance begins 10-15 year's before you actually develop any signs and symptoms of diabetes ?
A resistance to the hormone insulin, resulting in increasing blood sugar.
The hormone insulin helps control the amount of sugar (glucose) in the blood. With insulin resistance, the body's cells don't respond normally to insulin. Glucose can't enter the cells as easily, so it builds up in the blood. This can eventually lead to type 2 diabetes.
