When we live in a constant state of stress, the body stays stuck in “fight or flight” mode. This response is controlled by the nervous system and increases cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone.

Over time, elevated cortisol levels can contribute to:

• Fatigue and poor sleep
• Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
• Increased inflammation in the body

Research has shown that regular walking can help reduce symptoms of anxiety, improve mood, lower stress levels, and support overall emotional well being. One study published in the journal Mental Health and Physical Activity found that even short walks were associated with lower anxiety and improved psychological health.
