Come to the West Tisbury Library during the April school break for free soup and bread lunch! Soup will be vegan and gluten free. Lunch for all will be served weekdays from 11:30am-1pm: Tuesday, April 22-.Friday, April 25. Soup is provided thanks to the West Tisbury Library Foundation, Friends, and Chef Deon at the VFW.

Vegan Society

In 1944 Dr. Donald Watson coined the phrase “Vegan”, he later went on to be a Co-Founder of the “Vegan Society” in England.

In 1948 the first “Vegan Society” was formed and founded by Catherine Nimmo and Rubin Abramowitz in California

In 1960 H. Jay Dinshah founded the “American Vegan Society”

The “Martha’s Vineyard Vegan Society” was founded in 2018
