The National Weather Service has issued an Ice Storm Warning for our area this weekend, and Governor McMaster has declared a State of Emergency for South Carolina. Current forecasts indicate icy conditions beginning Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and continuing through Monday at 7:00 a.m.
Due to the potential for ice accumulation, hazardous driving conditions, power outages, and road closures, Self Regional is adjusting some schedules. Patients with appointments for outpatient services scheduled for Monday, January 26, 2026, at Self Regional Medical Center, Abbeville Area Medical Center, Edgefield County Healthcare, or any associated physician practices will need to have those appointments rescheduled to ensure the safety of patients and team members. Affected patients will be contacted directly by phone. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Patients are encouraged to check www.selfregional.org, www.abbevilleareamc.com, and Self Regional’s social media pages, or contact their care location prior to traveling for the most up-to-date information.

As we have during past weather events and emergencies, Self Regional remains committed to being ready, responsive, and resilient. Staff at our hospitals in Greenwood, Abbeville, and Edgefield are assessing staffing needs, securing essential supplies, and implementing operational plans to support patient care throughout the storm. Self Regional is also taking steps to enhance safety across all campuses, including treating and maintaining parking areas and walkways near main entrances as conditions allow.

Our focus throughout this winter weather event is ensuring patients continue to receive safe, high-quality care while supporting the well-being of our team members. This weekend, our cafeteria will be closed to the public for breakfast and lunch so that we can continue supporting those who serve our community.

Our cafeteria will remain open for hospital employees working and emergency personnel.
