🏆 Congratulations to our very own Rylee Atkinson for bringing home the State Title in the 4x200 relay!!
This is an incredible accomplishment and a proud moment for our entire community. Even more special—Ed-Co has not had a State Title in a running event since 1969!
Your hard work, dedication, and determination truly paid off, Rylee. We are so proud of you and your team for making history! 🖤💛
Help us congratulate Rylee on this amazing achievement!! 🎉👏

Days 3–5 of Nursing Home Week celebrations have been filled with fun, laughter, and meaningful moments across our campus! Our residents, staff, families, and community partners have stayed busy enjoying a variety of activities and special events throughout the week.
We were excited to welcome Gentz Curbside Kitchen and Willie’s Ray Food Truck, bringing delicious food and smiles to everyone. Some of our staff enjoyed creating their own custom car fresheners with Wild Gifts and had the opportunity to make bird feeders alongside the wonderful staff from Osborne Park. We also had the opportunity to "bling-up" with permanent jewelry!
We have prizes that we will be drawing for staff once week is over!
The week has also included yard games, popcorn and ice cream bars, our traditional “Woot-Woot Cart” filled with goodies, and fun dress-up days that brought out so much creativity and joy.
It has truly been a wonderful celebration of connection, community, and the amazing residents and staff who make our facility so special each day!
We would like to thank our leadership team for helping with ideas and operations, but especially Destiny Ortman, our Activity Director for spending so much time and effort putting all this together!!
*More to come tomorrow!!

It was such a pleasure having you for your work study. Thank you for all your help and for being so eager to learn. You did an amazing job, and we are excited to see you pursue nursing in the future. Wishing you the best of luck in everything ahead!

Ed-Co Work Study

Hey everyone, I am Abby Bockenstedt. This semester, I decided to do my work study at the Edgewood Convalescent Home. Some things I learned were how to read lab results when they come back, how they administer insulin and medications, and the importance of care conferences. This information will help me in my future since I will be pursuing nursing! I want to thank Wynn, the Director of Nursing, for allowing me this opportunity and for the nurses I got to follow!

A very special shout-out to our residents who once answered the call as nurses. Your hands comforted, healed, and cared for so many lives long before ours ever crossed paths. Thank you for the wisdom you continue to share, the stories that remind us where healthcare has been, and the example you set for all of us every single day.
Because of women and men like you, generations of nurses learned what compassion, sacrifice, and true dedication look like. You paved the way for all of us, and your legacy continues to live on through the care we provide today. We are honored to learn from you, celebrate you, and care for you now. ❤️
