22. That's the age when a person is cured of autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
OK...OK...we all know that's NOT true. But, now that we have your attention, what you may not know is that IT IS the age in Minnesota when a person with an intellectual and/or developmental disability ages out of their structured support services. Some will attend college or secure a job, but many others will need more supervision as they go about their days. For them, a day support services program is a good fit.
Did you know that in all of Scott County there are currently only three licensed day support services programs? Of the three, none of them are located in Prior Lake.
SSC's mission is to help fill the need for more day support services programs in our community that will help young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities be recognized as important and valued members of our community while enriching their lives through friendships, social connections, and learning opportunities.
