Hello my favorite people š¤
I wasnāt sure how to say this, so Iām just going to say it: small businesses need help right now.
You can probably see it outside your front door, but I especially want to shine a light on the salon and spa industry.
This past month, with ICE activity in our neighborhoods, has been hard on all types of businesses. After talking with coworkers and friends in the industry, I can tell you ā people are anxious. Very anxious.
Appointments arenāt being kept like they used to be. Some people donāt feel safe running errands. Others are feeling the weight of rising living costs. And historically, salon and spa services are one of the first things households cut when budgets get tight.
That combination has left a lot of us feeling overwhelmed.
Thankfully, Iāve been holding steady ā and I know some others have too, for now. But I wanted to share a few ways you can help if youāre able:
1. If you have the means, book the appointment. Need a pedicure, haircut, brow wax? Now is the time. And if possible, pre-book your next visit. Even if you need to reschedule later, having that appointment on the books gives your service provider a real sense of stability and comfort.
2. If spending isnāt in the budget, I completely understand. A free way to help? Leave a review for your favorite local business. It might seem small, but seeing a new five-star review truly makes our day and helps more than you know.
3. Share and tag your favorite businesses.
Share their posts. Post a story when you visit. Tag them. Itās free marketing and it gives such a boost of encouragement. I canāt even tell you how much it means when someone shares their experience.
And one more thing ā Valentineās Day is coming up š A gift card to your loved oneās favorite local spot makes such a thoughtful gift and keeps money in our community.
Iām so lucky to have your support, and I just want to say THANK YOU. Truly. š¤
