Hope everyone’s enjoying summer, even with the humidity, rain, and smoke in the mix. Honestly, I’m dreaming of those cool 60-degree days and snuggling into a cozy sweatshirt with my dogs!

There’s still plenty of summer left, so I want to give a shoutout to my talented friend Liz, an AP esthetician at Santé Beauty Creatives (formerly District on 50th). Liz is your go-to for waxing, tinting, lash lifts, and henna, and she has some openings right now. She uses Vagaro, which makes it super easy to book an appointment. I’ve been seeing Liz for years, and her skills are top-notch. She’s quick and makes every visit feel welcoming.
Liz is running a sweet deal—20% off for new clients and 20% off new services for existing clients. Plus, if you’re an existing customer and pay with cash, you’ll snag an extra 10% off. Check her out on Instagram for more details!

This month, I’m honoring my amazing auntie Kathleen, who we lost in December 2022. August was her birthday month so it only feels right to celebrate her. She was all about paying it forward and always had others in mind. I think about her every day and really miss her. Kath was such a giver. She regularly donated to St. Jude and always wanted to make a difference. Instead of focusing on her own cancer, she preferred to highlight childhood cancer because that’s just who she was. She didn’t want to be remembered for her illness but for her kindness, her ability to make people smile, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. She truly made a positive impact on my life and on everyone lucky enough to know her. If you’d like to donate in honor of Kath, you can do so in my suite or by visiting the St. Jude website:

https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html?sc_icid=home-btn-donate-now

I hope everyone has a wonderful August, and I appreciate you all!

July is here, and it’s flying by with all the summer fun! We’ve got plans lined up every weekend, making it a fantastic few weeks. Over the 4th of July, we took our nephew fishing for the first time. He caught his first fish and cutely said, “let it back in, ok?” We had a blast with family that day before heading home to check on our fish, whom we lovingly named Stinka-fish, while I got him ready for the fireworks—something I bet many of you can relate to!

Last month was very inspiring thanks to your amazing donations to RECLAIM, which supports mental health for q***r and trans youth. Your continued support for these important causes means the world to me, and I can't thank you enough. While I won't be hosting self-care for a cause this month, get ready for one in August!

I've got some availability this week and a few slots open throughout the month, I hope to see you soon!

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday and a joyful Pride Month!

Memorial Day was spent with friends boating, where we enjoyed the company of dolphins and manatees, along with my constant companion, Charlie, the chocolate lab puppy!
We can’t wait to go back and visit ☺️

This month, I am proud to support RECLAIM, an organization dedicated to providing mental health support for q***r and trans youth ages 15 to 25, as well as their families. RECLAIM’s mission is to enhance access to mental health care for these individuals, empowering them to reclaim their lives from various forms of oppression. As one of the few organizations in Minnesota offering affordable, specialized mental health services tailored to this demographic, RECLAIM excels in assisting youth with issues related to gender identity and sexual orientation, while also addressing mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. For more information, please visit their website at https://www.reclaim.care/how-to-help/overview.html. You can donate on their website or in my suite if you’d like to support this cause!

I wanted to showcase a local gem: Dancing Bear Chocolate, situated in the Victory neighborhood. Owned and operated by Chef/Chocolatier Steven Howard and his husband Joe Skifter, this establishment offers exquisite artisan chocolates, confections, pastries, gelato, and savory treats.
When you schedule an appointment with me this month, you’ll have the opportunity to sample some of their delightful chocolates!

Wishing all Father’s a wondeful Father’s Day on June 15th! Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to last month's cause! Your generosity has brought a brighter atmosphere to the baby nursery at the wildlife rehabilitation center. There will not be a cause for the month of May, but please stay tuned for June’s !

Additionally, I hosted a “review me” contest last month, and I’m pleased to announce that a winner has been selected and notified! With the help of my nephew and mother, we drew a name, and the fortunate winner has received a DNK Skin gift certificate, an Empowered Psyche gift certificate, skincare products from Rhonda Allison, and a coffee gift certificate! I sincerely appreciate all the wonderful reviews; your support means so much to me. Leaving positive feedback for your favorite local businesses is a simple yet impactful way to show your support.

On the topic of gift certificates, I must mention that Mother’s Day is fast approaching on May 11th! Gift cards are available on my website and would make an ideal choice for this special occasion 🌼

One final important note:
My wonderful client, Sue, runs an incredible cleaning business and is excited to welcome new clients! If you're seeking an experienced, trustworthy, and truly remarkable professional, this is your opportunity. Here are more details about Sue Gorham…

Hello! My name is Sue Gorham, and I am the sole proprietor of a small housecleaning business. I started my business in 2008, growing it from part-time to full-time starting in 2011. I'm proud to have grown this business through a lot of blood, sweat and tears, along with wonderful word-of-mouth referrals. I have several clients that have been using my services since the very beginning.
Just a little about myself, I grew up on a dairy farm where I learned the value of hard work, taking pride in my work, and dedication. I was also raised to value honesty, good common sense, and a job well done, no matter the task. I strive to have all of this come through in my work.
I currently have a couple openings in my schedule. If you need help with cleaning your home, I'd love to chat with you! I believe that a clean home translates to peace and calm. Feel free to reach out with questions and we can chat; text or call me at 612-578-7850. Please allow me 24-48 hours to get back to you.
Thank you, and I look forward to talking to you!P.S. FYI, If you are looking for a move-out cleaning, I no longer do those as they are best suited for a team of cleaners.

I hope everyone has a wonderful month and I’ll see you soon!

Happy April, Everyone!

I recently enjoyed a wonderful trip to Palm Springs, California, with my family. We visited the zoo where I had the delightful experience of feeding a giraffe, which was truly unforgettable. Our trip also included dining at exceptional restaurants, hiking, and shopping. Although I didn’t officially have time off from work, my nephew Finn humorously requested a massage during our stay, reminding me not to forget his feet, as captured in the photo above. He never fails to make me laugh!

In my backyard, spring has brought an abundance of bunnies and other wildlife. My dogs, now in their retirement phase, watch the critters while they munch on my plants. I've been struggling to keep my bird feeders filled, which has prompted me to think about my upcoming monthly donation drive. For April, I will be collecting donations for the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota (WRC). This organization has become one of the busiest wildlife hospitals globally, admitting over 21,000 patients each year, with approximately 200 different species expected this season. Given these statistics, it’s clear they greatly rely on donations.

Each spring, there is a significant demand for supplies for baby animal nurseries. Here’s a list of what is needed:
- Monetary donations
- Gift cards to Amazon, Chewy, and Joe's Sporting Goods
- Full-sized bath towels (please no hand towels or washcloths)
- Pillowcases
- Fleece
- Heating pads
- Storage baskets
- Wild bird food
They also have an amazon wishlist online:
https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3EBRU5IYUY821?ref_=wl_share

April marks my work anniversary at Phenix Salon Suites, and I am excited to celebrate nine years in my suite. It is hard to believe how quickly time has passed, and I am profoundly grateful for your continued support throughout these years. Many of you have been with me even longer, and your loyalty means the world to me.

To show my appreciation, I will be hosting a Review Me drawing this month. By leaving a review on Vagaro or my Facebook business page, you will be entered for a chance to win a travel-size Rhonda Allison kit, which includes a cleanser, toner, and two masks. Additionally, I will be offering a gift certificate for a 60-minute service, a $150 gift certificate to Empowered Psyche, and a coffee gift card. As April is National Stress Awareness Month, there is no better time to treat yourself to relaxing services and skincare.

I hope everyone has a great week, see you next time!

Happy March 1st! I am pleased to announce that last month, our contributions to Cookie Cart totaled nearly $300. I sincerely appreciate the generosity of everyone who donated. Your support empowers over 200 youth each year by providing them with essential leadership, life, and employment skills through both on-the-job training and classroom experiences within their nonprofit bakeries. You can continue to support their mission by donating via their website at www.cookiecart.com or by visiting to purchase cookies.

While the warmer weather is delightful, I can’t help but wonder if we’ll experience some snow in April. As some of you may know, my dog George has been less than cooperative during our walks lately. Stinka-fish and I are trying to enjoy our time outdoors, but George often chooses to sit in the middle of the street or lie down unexpectedly. I’ve even started bringing a can of Reddi-wip on our walks to encourage him to keep moving. For those familiar with my home, I assure you the Reddi-wip is strictly for canine use, not for humans.

This month, I will be in Palm Springs for a week, which means I will host another event in April. I prefer to keep the entire month open to maximize donations. Currently, I have two 60-minute appointments available for this month, along with openings for brow waxing. You can view my schedule by clicking the link at the bottom.

I am also looking forward to Saint Patrick’s Day, as it marks the birthdays of the “birthday triplets” which are my husband, his sis, and my neice! I hope you all have a great month, and enjoy a green beer, or Shamrock shake or whatever drink you can add green food coloring too :)

See you next time,

Dani

February has finally arrived and we can all breathe a sigh of relief that January is behind us. It’s time to celebrate Black History Month and DNK Skin is excited to be a part of it. In honor of this important month, we are collecting monetary donations for Cookie Cart. This organization is dedicated to teaching life, leadership, and employment skills to teens of color through on-the-job and classroom experiences in nonprofit bakeries.

The history of Cookie Cart is inspiring. It all started with Sister Jean Thuerauf, who invited neighborhood youth into her kitchen to help with schoolwork and bake cookies. Her kitchen soon became too small for the growing number of young people, and in 1988, with the help of the community, Cookie Cart was registered as a 501(c)3 nonprofit. What began as a cart rolling up and down the streets of North Minneapolis has grown into two neighborhood bakeries on West Broadway in North Minneapolis and on Payne Avenue in Saint Paul.

Sister Jean’s vision and legacy continue to guide Cookie Cart, which uses cookies as a tool to provide hundreds of neighborhood teens with the job experience and leadership skills they need to have successful futures. The organization relies on monetary donations for office supplies and ingredients, and DNK Skin is proud to support this cause.

During the month of February, when you come in for an appointment at DNK Skin, you will receive a cookie from Cookie Cart. If you’re unable to visit us in person, you can also donate on their website at www.cookiecart.org!

Stinka-fish & Georgie say hello and they’re jealous that you’ll be getting cookies and they won’t ;)

See you next time!

Happy New Year, Everybody!!!

I hope everyone had a great holiday season!

We started our December with our friends in Florida! We always have such a great time with them and it’s a nice warm getaway in between the holidays 💜
We have 3 birthdays around Christmas in my family, which makes for a very busy December! My nephew, Finn, turned 5!
He told me to pick him up in his BMW and take him to Nickelodeon universe 😆. I have to schedule that soon because I know he won’t forget about it lol! While he was opening his presents on Christmas Eve, he stopped to say how much he appreciated all of them 🎁 ♥️ 🫶🏻
I thought that was so sweet and such a great reminder to take time to show my gratitude toward you all for your continued support of my business. I can’t say enough how much I appreciate you all being so loyal, sending me referrals, and just being the awesome people I get to share my day with. My business would be nothing without you, THANK YOU!

I almost left out, Stinka-fish turned 12 in December! So, technically 4 December birthdays 😉 Another very important date on my calendar! He couldn’t be any sweeter! He’s just the best old man 🐶 ♥️

As a reminder, I’m working every other Saturday and 1 Monday a month.
If you’re someone who can only schedule on a Saturday, please consider booking out a few appointments at a time to ensure you get your preferred date and time. My Saturday’s are already filling up, so please check out my schedule and pre-book if you can 🙏🏼

Have a great rest of your January!

It’s December already! There’s only a couple of weeks left to go shopping for the holidays 😅.
My babies 🐶 🐕 were thrilled to be a wreath and Xmas tree for holiday photos! If they weren’t so freaking cute, I would stop dressing them up 😉

As we’re gearing toward holiday shopping and thinking about something special to gift yourself or someone on your list, my friend Caroline Cochran is hosting a weekend at the Wild Rice Retreat in Wisconsin. This retreat is about reconnecting with yourself while forming meaningful connections with other women who’ve also chosen to pause and reflect. At Wild Rice Retreat you’ll find space to slow down, practice yoga and meditation, and simply breathe in the beauty of nature on the shores of Lake Superior.Research shows that moments like these—moments of stillness, authenticity, and community—are essential for reducing stress, anxiety, and navigating uncertainty. So, take the leap and join Caroline Cochran and Ahndi Fridell January 9-12, 2025 in Bayfield, WI. Start 2025 off not only with intention but also with the energy that only comes from deep rest and rejuvenation. Click here for more information and to register. Or reach out to hello@transformablecc.com with questions.”

There is much to anticipate with the holiday season and political events, but worry not!
I have available openings for massage/facial appointments this month, including Thanksgiving week. For added convenience, I have extended my hours and opened up a slot on Monday, December 2nd. Trust me, having a massage appointment on your calendar is a decision you won’t regret.

As a little bonus, I invite you to enjoy a photo of my adorable dogs posing in front of our refrigerator, imitating deer. They refused to move to another location for this impromptu photo shoot, but I think it turned out quite cute and I’m positive this was their way of telling me they wanted cheese.

I hope you have a great week!

Hey there,

I wanted to drop you a quick update and share some exciting news with you.

Firstly, I want to give a huge shoutout to everyone who generously donated to our doggie cause last month. Your support has truly made a difference in the lives of our furry friends and their foster parents. I sincerely appreciate your kindness and couldn’t have achieved this without you.

On another note, Halloween was a blast despite the less-than-ideal weather. My nephew, Finn, stole the show with his Tornado Siren costume, which was lovingly crafted by my aunt Shell. His sound effects were on point and kept everyone entertained throughout the evening. I could hear his siren impersonation in my head throughout the day today lol.

Starting from January 1st, 2025, there will be some changes to my schedule. I will now be working alternate Saturdays, which means you’ll have an extra Monday each month. Here are the updated timings:

- Monday: 12-6pm (once a month)
- Saturday: 9-4pm (every other week)
- Tuesday and Thursday: 1-8pm
- Wednesday and Friday: 10-5pm

To ensure that you secure your preferred appointment time, simply send an email to dnkskin@gmail.com with the following details: your preferred day of the week, preferred time of day, and the specific service(s) you’re interested in. Leave the rest to me, and I will pre-book out your appointments for you if you’d like.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope to see you soon!
