Today is Ageism Awareness Day

Ageism often shows up in subtle ways — in how we talk about getting older or in the way we avoid conversations about aging and end-of-life wishes. But these are the conversations that bring peace of mind, empowerment, and connection.

Taking time to document your end-of-life wishes and complete an advance care directive is one of the most meaningful acts of self-respect and love you can offer — both to yourself and to your loved ones. It ensures your voice is heard, your values are honored, and your choices are known. 💛

Let’s work together to challenge ageism by embracing aging as a season of wisdom, preparation, and purpose.

The DFL Senior Caucus is a powerful voice for seniors across Minnesota. Local chapters, like the one in White Bear Lake, bring people together to learn, share, and take action on issues that matter most. When these chapters work collectively, they form a strong, statewide force advocating for senior causes and issues.
