Today is International Day of Radiology, and we're thinking about the moment that changed everything for women's health.
129 years ago today—November 8, 1895—Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen discovered X-rays completely by accident. Within weeks, his wife became one of the first people ever X-rayed, and she famously said after seeing the image of her own hand, "I have seen my death."
But here's what we see: LIFE.
What started as a mysterious discovery has evolved into the technology that helps us detect breast cancer early—when it's most treatable. That grainy first X-ray paved the way for the 3D mammography, ultrasound, and advanced imaging we use today to catch what the eye can't see.
Every woman who schedules her mammogram is honoring that legacy of curiosity and care. Every early detection is a victory that Röntgen could have only dreamed of.
At CRL Women's Imaging, we're proud to be part of this incredible story. As an ACR-designated Breast Center of Excellence, we use the latest technology—but what matters most is YOU. Our board-certified breast imaging specialists and patient navigators are here to support you with compassion, from your first appointment and beyond.
So here's to the women who show up for themselves. Here's to the friends who come together for "Bring a Friend" mammogram appointments. And here's to every radiologist, technologist, and healthcare professional who helps us see what matters most: your health, your peace of mind, and your future.
