The Childbirth Collective stands in solidarity with all families affected by immigration enforcement activity in the Twin Cities and beyond.
We recognize the fear, stress, and disruption this moment brings—especially for pregnant people, parents, and children. Our work is rooted in the belief that every family deserves safety, dignity, and compassionate care—regardless of where they come from or their circumstances.
As barriers for families have continued to grow, community-based leaders are carrying an extraordinary load. Multilingual and BIPOC doulas, lactation professionals, bodyworkers, midwives, and grassroots healthcare organizations are providing extensive care, coordination, and advocacy within their communities. Much of this work is being offered at no cost, with individuals covering essential expenses out of pocket to keep families supported and safe.
This rapid response fund exists to support both local families directly impacted by immigration enforcement and the BIPOC-led care providers who have always been at the heart of this work. Donations are directed to trusted partner organizations led by people from impacted communities—groups with longstanding relationships, deep cultural knowledge, and a sustained commitment to care that extends far beyond this moment.
We recognize that everyone is navigating different financial realities, community networks, and lived experiences right now. There are many meaningful ways to show up, and many worthy causes asking for care and attention.
If this is one that speaks to you, please consider making a donation or sharing with your people.
Thank you for your care and generosity.
