The definition of overhaul is "a thorough examination of machinery or a system, with repairs or changes made if necessary". At Overhaul Performance Based Therapy that's what we're setting out to do with you. We utilize a number of movement screens during our evaluation process to thoroughly examine how you move and determine precisely what changes (if any) need to be made so as to finally relieve episodes of pain or allow you to better perform enjoyable activities. The movement screens that we utilize operate under a concept known as regional interdependence. This means that an area away from a region of complaint could be the root cause of your problem. For example, you could have a problem with the way your hip moves that could be holding you in a pattern of chronic neck pain. This is where Overhaul Therapy is different from other physical therapy, chiropractic, or rehabilitative services. A majority of these services still operate from the notion of treating the area of complaint. However, except for specific onsets, the area of pain is generally not the real problem. The only way to know exactly where your problem is coming from and resolve it once and for all is by thoroughly examining it. The only way of knowing how to properly restore it to its best performance is having a blueprint. By correcting the real underlying problem means you can recover better and faster. This means fewer visits and better outcomes. This is the premise of Overhaul Therapy.
