Welcome Wednesday!

We are so excited to have Katie join Mindful Families!

Katie Fleuriet, MSW, LICSW, PMH-C (she/her) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and holds a certification in Perinatal Mental Health. She has been a social worker for the past 15 years. and has worked in a variety of settings.
Katie works with adolescents and adults and specializes in supporting women to address concerns related to anxiety, depression, adjustments to stressors and life transitions. She has extensive experience working with pregnant and postpartum parents as well as parents of young children who are trying to balance it all.
Katie offers a warm and empathetic space to explore experiences and work towards healing and growth. She draws from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help clients build coping skills, challenge unhelpful patterns, and reconnect with their values. Her approach is informed by a deep understanding of how social, cultural, and personal experiences shape women’s mental health.

Fiona Polzin, BA (She/Her/Hers) is a third-year graduate student at the University of St. Thomas for her master's degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has experience supporting clients in their treatment and recovery from eating disorders and related anxiety, depression, life transitions, and stress concerns. She also holds certification and previous experience as a yoga teacher and values mind-body practices for stress management and mental health.



Fiona’s approach is warm, empathetic, nonjudgmental, and she seeks to empower her clients to be the author of their own story and explore what truly matters to them. She draws on methods and skills including Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Fiona is trained in a systemic lens to be able to support individuals, couples, and families and is open to working with clients ages 6 and up. Fiona is clinically supervised by Amy Engelhard, LMFT.

This year we started an internship program in collaboration with the University of St. Thomas Graduate School of Counseling Psychology. We are excited to have two Master's Level Clinical Interns join us! They are both open for new clients.

Sonya Wallestad, BA (she/her/hers) is a third-year graduate student at the University of St. Thomas for her master's degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Counseling. Sonya’s approach to therapy is collaborative, honoring the uniqueness of each individual's journey. She focuses on creating a safe and inclusive space with genuine compassion, patience, and humor. Grounded in a trauma-informed, person-centered approach, she supports self-exploration, healing, and authentic personal growth.



Sonya has completed the PSI certificate training for the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and has experience working in reproductive health. She enjoys working with adolescents (ages 12 and up) and adults presenting concerns of anxiety, depression and perinatal mental health concerns. Sonya integrates techniques from DBT and CBT to tailor treatment to each client’s needs.

Welcome Tenille!

Tenille Jennings, MS, Licensed Professional School Counselor, (She/Her/Hers) is a Pre-Licensed Clinician working towards licensure as a Professional Clinical Counselor supervised by Amy Engelhard, LMFT. Tenille has over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Tenille believes that with warmth, support, and curiosity, as people we can bring awareness to our patterns and begin reflecting on how we would like to move forward with living in our present and future life. Tenille has experience helping clients with generalized and social anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and self-esteem, family changes, school challenges and life transitions. She enjoys working with a wide range of clients, but especially enjoys helping children 6+ and families through life changes and mental health concerns.

Tenille is dedicated to building trust and cultivating an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive space that allows people to be vulnerable and to feel safe and heard. Tenille is passionate about her work and strongly believes in the importance of a trusting therapeutic relationship with her clients. It is important to her to provide encouragement to her clients towards growth and positive change through their journey. Tenille utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, play therapy, and strength-based therapy, and motivational interviewing. She believes in the importance of collaboration with her clients and their active participation in the therapeutic process to develop skills and create positive strategies for change.



Tenille has immediate openings for new clients, including evening and weekend appointments through telehealth or in-person.
